Reddit seems to have caught that post in a spam filter, it shows up when I'm logged in. I lost the password to my other reddit account.

60K is personal holdings, possibly up to an additional 70K in client funds depending on their sentiment, which pretty strongly leans Core.

Escrow wise, I would hope someone could come up with an atomic swap method.

No split, no transaction. If there is a split, I'd love to double up.

BitcoinUnlimited can end costing more than Bitcoin Core, Bitcoin core will end costing 1/10 of BU price and will be renamed to Bitcoin classic just like Ethereum-

In which case Ver would be insane not to take this deal. Wink

My comment is just a warning to OP, that bet can be an easy way to lose money.

Could be done fairly trustlessly with lets say 10k coins.

A sends B 10 core coins,
B sends A 10 unlimited coins.

repeat 1000 times, just keep hitting the mouse buttons for a day.

The idea here, I imagine, is the locking in of exchange rate pre fork. Wink

Post fork, one can simply use the market in a normal fashion.

I am speechless to see the account holding 40k bitcoin ,who owns those kind of money !!! If there is a split which is highly likely with the uncertain things going on with the rumors and things regarding it,i am not sure how things will go and the price is recovering even at this level. Good luck making the deal.

Have Ver fly out to meet you in person and live stream it with an a respected
semi-independent Bitcoiner there as a real time witness and the escrow agent.
You and Ver split the cost of flying out this respected Bitcoiner.

Make it a good old fashion Pay-Per-View event. Major Bitcoin history right there.
Like boxers getting weighed-in before the fight. Glorious.

Grin LOL I'd pay to see it!

The offer is open to Jihan Wu as well.

Consider it primarily as a vote of no confidence in the Bitcoin Unlimited software and development team as it currently stands. I'll add the contingency that the deal is null and void if there are major changes to either.

Wow... this is really big bet... and a great way for action to speak louder than just words.

By the way, could anyone provide instruction on how to send each coin separately?

You can split BTC into BCC and BTU on Bitfinex. Market is very thin though.

Roger Ver thinks he is the ultimate whale of bitcoin when he is a nobody compared to real 2010-2011 tier whales that im sure are in BTC's side ready to kick ass, the difference is they aren't attention whores showing off with lambos and shit and just stay anonymous.

Pretty sure there are some 500.000 BTC+ cryptopunks out there reading this thread.

Im sure Roger Ver will find some excuse to not make the public deal because he isn't going to dump, he's just bluffing.

Bitcoin Unlimited nodes are crashing again due a bug. There are 0% chances the market will support BTU.

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/60ozkh/rogerver_lets_make_a_deal_1_for_1_trade_at_least/

bitcoin-cli signmessage 19Mz2o9RDABT74SA9njZqMtJXKEzj2qUoH '@RogerVer lets make a deal, 1 for 1 trade. At least 60k, possibly up to 130k, my BTU for your BTC.'

Verified.

Why would he be willing to do a 1 for 1 trade? The market rate on bitfinex (which I am fairly confident that you use) for BTU is 0.2102 while the market rate for BCC 0.758, both in terms of BTC. So for this to be a fair trade, you would need to offer him 3.6 BTU for every 1 BCC that ver gives you.

edit: no longer confident you use bitfinex; my prior presumption was due to a coinjoin transaction. It does however look like you might have withdrawn 50,000BTC from SilkRoad in Sept 2012, worth ~$610,000 at the time, or you may have purchased some coins from someone who did this.

Seems like a rather safe bet, I doubt anyone will have the balls to take it up.

For BTU to exist, it needs to have more proof-of-work than BTC (as if BTC's work exceeds it, it will be considered valid and the BTU will reorg away). But the only way hash power will stay mining it is if it's more economical, which would require that BTU price to be strictly greater than BTC's.

So really, a BTU/BTC split has very little to do with miners but rather the economic participants. In fact, all BTC supporters need to do is sell their BTU holdings making sure to keep the BTU price <= 1 BTC. If that is done for long enough, all BTU coins will literally vanish.

Meanwhile, BTC holders never face the same risk that their coins will disappear -- making the trade a lot safer. For this reason, BTU is pretty much doomed. If the split ever happens (which I strongly doubt), I'm more than happy to trade ~1000 BTU for 0.99 BTC each.

Check out gamblingsitefinder.com for a decent list/rankings of crypto casinos. Note: I have no affiliation or interest in it, and don't even agree with all the rankings ... but it's the only uncorrupted review site I'm aware of.

Loaded is offering much better terms for a BU supporter. He says:

No split, no transaction. If there is a split, I'd love to double up.

while the terms on bitfinex mean you lose your money if there's no split. Since it's highly unlikely there's going to be a split, the bitfinex trade is pretty insanely risky even for a BU believer

Yes there is a risk of no split (or that core will change the code in their repository after a split to be compatible with BU) on bitfinex, however I don't think that accounts for all of the discrepancy in price.

The executives at the various exchanges seem to believe that BU initiating a HF to be increasingly possible. The recently found blocks are pointing to momentum for BU.

I cannot predict the future, however I would not write off the possibility of a fork, as doing so would be reckless.

This kind of deal would be nearly impossible for either party to enforce, and there is the possibility that both parties would not even have the potential to be able fulfill their obligations in the event of a split because the loosing chain is likely to quickly die off

I get it.

Funny thing is, as a BU supporter,  I put more weight on your announcement than anything anyone else has said or done,
as far as shifting my opinion.

I still think we'd be better off with BU than Core, but at least you made me take a step back and try
to see more.

I am wondering if you see any problems with Core's roadmap (some people have gone as far as
to say they are deliberately trying to bring down Bitcoin)...or you agree with small blockism in general
(centralizing transactions over centralizing nodes or Bitcoin-as-commodity-not-currency)...or simply
you weigh those factors less than network reliability.

This sounds like a great deal for both of us.  I look forward to ironing out the exact details and terms.  I'm super busy for the next 48 hours,  but would love to connect after that.

Escrow is needed, Get Andreas or a few trusted Bitcoin personalities to hold a key to a multisig address holding the Bitcoin.

e.g.

2 of 3 multisig.

20k Bitcoin in each address, Roger holds one key, Loaded one key , Bitcoin personality hold other key.

do that 6 times with different Bitcoin people holding third key.

Edit: after split Bitcoin could be withdrawn from escrow BTC 1k at a time, to a service like poloniex, split and each person would get their btc or btu coins.

Edit2: Also Roger, just a tip, do not generate your multisig key or signature or anything else using BU, who knows what other type of vulnerabilities will be exploited on it.
