Just like US dollars are used for all illegal activities,bitcoin may also be used to support terrorists.We could neither control such things,nor we could blame bitcoins for that.Bitcoin is a decentralized currency created by satoshi to free people from banks.Its up to users how they use it.

Bitcoin has a higher chance to be used in illegal activities and terrorism because of some of its features such as being decentralized and can use even without submitting some identification forms. It is most likely being used in the deep web according to the article I had read.

Do you have any reference that use of bitcoin in any illegal activities or use of terrorism. Bitcoin is being decentralized because of political cause so don't connect that to this.

yes they can do it without a doubt. bitcoin is open for all those who wants it , invested on it and want to earn thru it. we cannot dictate other person to how and when they may need to spend it. decision is in their hands.

Agree with you mate, bitcoin has freedom to used by all people in the world, users can spend bitcoin anywhere they want if they want to used in bad things they can and bitcoin is not required to give full personal information of each user that is why it is possible for that scenario.

bitcoin is global and anyone can use it for any purpose like all other kind of money. yes it is a currency just like fait money and can be used by them as well. it doesn't have any restrictions for anyone and i think yes the possibility is there.

it's already happened now. So is this make bitcoin have negative news or decrease their supporter? I dont think so, people choose bitcoin because it's free money and decentralized. Just like in a real world, ppl used fiat money to do many bad things, so are they demand to money decrease? ofcourse not

In all honesty, bitcoin is very prone into being used as a gateway to send illegal funds to terrorists due to its pseudo-anonymous nature; it is much harder to track as to where the money really went even though everytime you send a coin it leaves some taints or trails which you can follow�but that is easily prevented by using mixing services. Also, it is not new that weapons are being sold in exchange to bitcoins, so it might be that some weapons being used by terrorists are actually purchased using bitcoins.

But if you just replace bitcoin with $100 bills and you have the exact same answer. Bitcoins are just basically online cash. Technically you could always trace the serial number on a bill too (or at least banks or the government could).

People need more education on how crypto currencies work, how it makes life easy and that crypto currencies (bitcoin) is real money like yen, £,$,₹,¤,€,¥ no different in it be used for good like giving to charity organization, pay school fees of your children and services to gods or evil like finance terrorists, promoting porn, child trafficking and others evil in our societies.

But this does not apply for all bitcoins have promoted competition among currencies.

First of all, i don't know that Han Sol, the son of Kim Jong Nam using bitcoin well finally bitcoin can prove that it can be implemented for such a serious situation like this which is good for helping people to hiding or something. I personally think that bitcoin could be used to support terrorist or other criminals activity, we all know that at this time it isn't too hard to increase the anonymity of the bitcoin like using mixer, fully anonymity altcoin etc, so for those reasons, i must confess that bitcoin could be used to support terrorist activity but remember bitcoin can be used for good though for example Han Sol's case like op mentioned above.

Well Bitcoin doesn't really support terrorism, bitcoin support everyone that has a bitcoin, and that is the community, bitcoin services don't have the knowledge in knowing who is the terrorist in the community they will just make transaction like that if there is one! certainly everyone can use bitcoin but it doesn't mean that bitcoin is supporting terrorism and people with an illegal transaction involve using bitcoin, well Fiat currency was certainly been use in illegal too, why does bitcoin is the only one to gets all the blame?

Let say that Han Sol was using gold instead of bitcoin, and may be he has some, do we say, now, that gold is used to support terrorism? Nobody could support something like that because rest of the people would laugh with him; Therefore, it's only rumors so as people to be convinced that crypto currencies are used only for illegal activities.

Just like everybody saying here, it still depends on how people will use it. It can be used to support bad people but that's the drawback of having such a good currency. We can't control the ideas of people, we can't control how they behave and we won't​ know how they will use BTC. That's real talk and that's real world. If i remember first the bitcoin was introduced to use it for silk route to deal the underworld mafia transactions, and then after the silk route was shut down by the government the bitcoin technology was leaked out and then it came to the real world and everyone started to enjoy it, not it is more like a online digital currency. It is hard to believe someone without any proof or solid evidence about this, though it is possible that bitcoin could be use by supporting the terrorist, but the big question here is who will support the terrorist? and going to use bitcoin for it? I guess it is a little hassle, they would rather use fiat for it, since it is just the same that they are going to support the terrorist.

The only thing is they are anonymous if they are going to use bitcoin, but, still, the bottom line here is they are going to be revealed in the end because there is no secrets that can't be reveal.
