Recently the spread the of the new malware "wannacry" which hit some 100 or so countries where data of people were locked and to get the data back to the people the organisation demanded 300$ of bitcoin.This was the first i saw bitcoin used for the wrong purpose. Yes it can be used to support terrorists, so can be USD or any other currency. Why governments hate bitcoins is because they can't control bitcoin and its supply.
As seen in case of Charlie Shrem, where he was held guilty of money laundering just because he sold bitcoins to one person out of so many persons who was involved in the case of drug dealing. They don't held banks guilty of giving money to drug dealers and neither put the bank officials behind the bars.

IMO, to be hacked is impossible seems this is decentrelized, once you submit wrong data you will be rejected from network. But there are possibility for phishing and mining manipulation attempt (by monopoly the hashing power).

Im not sure how they can figure it out, though people forget that most "terrorist" activity is done through cash and in the form of USD. BTC being used for such a thing is usually the method by which they deter people from it and it is absolutely rubbish.

Can't deny that bitcoin is not used for illegal and terrorist activities. But right now we don't have any proof describing bitcoin to be the most used currency for transaction by terrorists. Everyone's using bitcoin to their own usage and will,  including terrorists.  I feel that Bitcoin is also helping terrorist in a way that bitcoin transaction are secure and anonymous and no one will be able to track the sender receiver for the illegal things. It may be used to purchase high explosive  weapons or even drugs etc.  But still we cannot suggest Bitcoin is responsible for this all terrorist activities. Its just helping them to hide their identity and keep doing illegal work in darknet.
