I invested thousands of dollars of my own money into this coin, promoted it heavily to my Facebook friends, and persuaded a close personal friend of mine to invest of his limited funds into this coin.  My reputation and my hard earned money is on the line.  I expect Torcoin to do what it says it does, and above all, I expect the founder of this coin to take the reputation and integrity of this coin seriously by sticking to truthful claims on the Torcoin website, the initial ANN post, and his comments.  That means amending the claims at their sources to remove the falsehoods and accurately reflect the current reality, post haste.

I am actually beginning to regret investing in and promoting this coin - something which I was not expecting to happen, based on thetorcoin's past expressions of commitment to this coin.  Keeping the false claims posted without amendment on the website and on the initial ANN post, and avoiding responding to these valid concerns from his own supporters, gives me no reassurance that this individual is committed to the reputation and integrity of this coin, let alone that he is on the up and up himself.

I have given up on TOR coin, basically because of what i have quoted above.
@TheTorCOin seems completely unbothered. Not just that; but also he has turned a blind eye to them as if we're stupid yet some of us are merely concerned investors.
honestly, i still cant get my mind around why he doesn't want to change. it makes me feel its because of his pride or ego or maybe some brooding malicious intent. @theTorCOin has done a number of good things(most of which are focused on the price and never the reputation) for this project but his adamancy to change things in this situation negates it all.

So AVG, Avast, Kaspersky, ESET and Bitdefender have cleared Torcoin.
Only McAfee and Avira left from major antiviruses

yeah more exchange will make the coin bigger due to activity, but it needs to go on that part. Everybody should take part on helping torcoin to go in other exchanges.

From what you have in your signature, it shows you are an engineer and a musician and at the same time faulting this project which I am obviously not against as you have the right to be heard just like every other person whether for or against this project. However, I would appreciate if you give a detailed explanation of your concerns which has not been addressed to by the developers and I am sure they will attend to it and if its valid then the community will decide.

Yes excatly I have that problem too, when I have finally got it to work, the application disseappears but the folder in the %appdata% is still there. Can someone tell me why this keeps happening.

I have plenty of proof. I've posted my proof many times. TorCoin does not connect to Tor. All TorCoin traffic goes over the regular internet. TorCoin clients and nodes connect to a IRC channel that anyone can access. Inside the IRC channel you can see every client and their IP address. I can personally track everyone that is using TorCoin. If I can do it, anyone can.

This is not a wild guess. I have hard technical proof that TorCoin has lied about their Crypto Currency.

I'm a certified Network Engineer with a little over 10 years experience. Most recently I worked for a very large ISP in their core engineering department. I'm also kind of a nerd, so in my free time I like to investigate how things work, especially if they are network related.
 
I have experience with Tor and anonymous distributions like Tails. My primary interest at this point is to find out how secure TorCoin really is. If you are familiar with anonymity, then you should be aware that leaking network data on the clear net (the regular internet) is a big concern. Leaking any data related to you or the app you're trying to conceal will give you away.
 
To test, I configured a Windows 10 Virtual Machine and setup Wireshark. After installing and launching TorCoin, I performed a series of packet captures. For the sake of being brief, I discovered that most of the claims made by TorCoin are false. TorCoin does NOT integrate with The Tor Network. It does NOT keep your usage private. 
 
Here are just a couple things that I found!

* Clear public NON-Tor DNS traffic asking for http://seed.torcoincoin.com
* Clear public IRC traffic to irc.lfnet.org and irc.smutfairy.com
* Does NOT connect to The Tor Network!
* Does NOT keep your use of the coin anonymous!
* Nodes do NOT help The Tor Network.

TorCoin communicates with other nodes over the regular internet. Your IP address can be seen by everyone! I was able to do a reverse lookup on a node and found a user on Comcast. His claims are misleading at best. I personally feel the creator of this coin has done this intentionally. It is my educated opinion that you avoid this cryptocurrency.

The last "pump" was because there were no sell orders for anything less than 5$ on a chinese exchange. The buy orders were still around 1-1.2$ per torcoin. I am sure the price will go up once the awareness and usability of this coin gets improved.
