For sure "short timing" is the best choice on the older firmware, with the new one I see orange leds (idle) randomly blinking, meaning that it's possible to squeeze a bit more from the chips Cheesy
Yes the V42 firmware has a non-constant clock so as soon as cgminer comes up with an estimation, it's wrong if the clock changes.
My estimation code uses a line of best fit for the data points - but if the clock isn't constant and I don't know what the clock is ... it's not a straight line.
Why to use the =N value is explained before Smiley

Last question. Short vs long?
Short means it times it for about an hour and uses the end of that forever after until you quit cgminer.
Long means it keeps re-estimating forever.
Long is better than short if you computer performance is inconsistent - since it breaks up history into 10 sections and throws the oldest one away after they are all full and requires to open a new section.
Short saves wasting re-estimating it over and over again (but re-estimating has only a negligible negative affect on performance)

And lastly what if you don't use any timing?
3.1.1 always defaults the settings to match a 380MH/s Icarus Rev3 ... i.e. if you don't specify
The next version will default them for the BLT (Black Arrow Lancelot) to be a 400MH/s Lancelot
If you change the firmware from the default you'll need to set --icarus-timing
Some of this in is FPGA-README ... ... ...

Will the Lancelot (Group Manufacturing Shipping 15th July) be available as a collection from Reading UK?
Could the remaining 50% be payed on collection?
You have a good rep on here and I'd rather you hold 50% of my order money than some of the "other" company's selling mining kit!

It will be cheaper to purchase from China as UK charges 20% VAT and our reseller 10%. If you insist on picking up from UK we can arrange this.
Please send an email message to our sales team to arrange this.

Regards!

Without Dimensions its hard to say Cheesy
Though if thats a 40mm on the board the you should be able to fit a 60mm Cheesy
though i cant say for sure unless some one provides measurements of the heatsink or my boards show up Cheesy

Noted. The most we have tested the Lancelots was 3 days and we did not noticed any problems. We assumed that the fans are ok and the factory promised that these are high quality and will run uninterrupted for a long time.

We will change the factory and will try to run the fan by itself for more than 3 days.

For this batch unfortunately is too late to change them.

50mm fans, use high airflow if possible to stand the noise.
Do not try 60mm, they won't fit.

You could also send a version without fan. If I was to order, I would probably use a fan with LED lights from a good vendor anyway and create something silly: A work of mining art.
