Any idea how many of these chips are expected to fail? I was thinking 5% failure rate, to be on the safe side, but I really have no idea... Would anyone less clueless than me on this please chime in? Smiley

(any experience from previous shipments?)

These chips are a new offer but they are built into avalon miners. I didnt hear of problems with these miners but they are tested before shipping. So i cant tell if there is a failure rate. Friedcat from Asicminer said that his chips have practically no failure rate. Im not sure if its the same with avalon chips. But i would order some more just in case. They can brake for some reason while assembly and so on...

Please ALWAYS contact me through bitcointalk pm before sending someone coins.

If you offer them then Smiley

Anyway, it's probably best to have a few spares handy just in case.

Could you please confirm the expected levies/VAT at import? I'd rather not find afterwards I have another 25% to add on top.

Cheers.

19%.

However, Avalon will likely put the notice in about costs, and since we do not know what they will declare... well. Cheesy

I hope they do put acceptable declaration on/inside the package. Otherwise with German customs it could create some trouble to clear up things and get the chips released.
Maybe Sebastian can check upfront with Bitsyncom & customs about this subject ?

As mentioned by Schrankwand, I also would expect to pay an additional 19% VAT...

Nothing i can do here. I already asked bitsyncom but no answer. Probably because they wrote they wont give any support for the chips.
Even with 19% on top this will be worth it, im sure. Im confident avalon will move as always.

Thanks Sebastian. Be nice to the Zoll (customs) guys when the chips arrive, so that they hand'em over ;-)
Normally I would try not to pay the high EU VAT, but the group buy in the US has somewhat stalled currently,
so I think I will move in here....

Thx.

Still don't have a friend who's VAT registered who could lend a hand? Free BTC for him I'm sure. You don't have to re-invoice, just accept the package in case there is a lot of VAT (he'll get it back anyway).

Cheers.
