Thats too bad... i wonder how we can spread the chips now. Are only the buyers of batch 1 allowed to get the samples or will the chips needed to get a sample be 4 times higher?

It looks like avalon will ship samples only once per address. So we wont get 4x30 chips but only 30 in total. See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=187660.msg2421352#msg2421352Now the question is how the chips should be distributed. Does only the one the right for a chip that ordered in first batch and had over 333 chips or does everone has the right who ordered over 1333 chips in all 4 batches? I tend to the last option. How do you see this? Of course its a pity that avalon decided this way. Bad for orderer and developer/assembler...

How do you see this?
You should decide Sebastian - you are the boss here! ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) but in my humble opinion the samples should get: - BIG developers who started to build something (those klondike, bkkcoins, ...) - SMALLER developers who started to build some of their implementations of ASIC miners and they let you know earlier about this in the posts (like bcdev, terrahash, innovina, szym00, ...) ...and you have already created the list https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=187660.msg2248243#msg2248243 : 2 burnin 2 flyonwall 2 BKKCoins + 4 wished 2 ryepdx 2 allten 2 evilscoop 2 terrahash 2 daemondazz 1 innovina 1 bcdev 1 szym00 1 marto74 It is up to you Sebastian ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif)

Yes, at the end i have to decide it. And i cant change it when avalon now only sends 30 chips in total. But maybe there are other suggestions? I now calculate the ordered chips together to find out how many orderer are meeting the threshold of 1334 chips.

I made a new table regarding the targets of the sample chips. Contained are only developers and assemblers that need to prove the design. Avalons original design doesnt need proof, new designs will need. One chip is worthful for testing a design, a second chip has good worth too for checking the communication between chips. More chips than that are luxus pracically. I hope its well chosen. There could be a good amount of choices soon for proofed and working miners... ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Samplechips | Username | User-ID | 2 | burnin | 70823 | 2 | BkkCoins | 29155 | 2 | allten | 29418 | 2 | daemondazz | 101441 | 2 | bcdev | 106443 | 2 | marto74 | 84195 | 2 | flyonwall | 87270 | 2 | szym00 | 108891 | 2 | innovina | 117183 | 2 | hf_developer | 122104 | 2 | evilscoop | 98209 | 2 | sensei | 93912 | 2 | DaGreatRV | 120794 | 1 | villex | 113995 |

Just a suggestion (I have none in these batches so please feel free to ignore) but since the majority of people plan to use burnin's services, does it make sense to ensure that he has enough to finish his prototypes?

He doesnt need a fully assembled pcb for proving that the design works. He could do nearly all tests with 1 chip and the remaining tests with a second chip and it looks like he will get 2 chips. So as far as i wrote with him its enough for him. And there will probably come more sample chips from other buyers too.

Good idea ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Although when batch 5 sample chips will arrive, we should hopefully already have batch 1 fully shipped, so they won't be useful for development - only as few free pieces for those who ordered many chips.

It would make perfect sense as Sebastian stated that 95% of chips from his group buy go to Burnin.

Do you mean 95% of samples? If yes, I have a question why? ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) It would be better that other developers may have the possibility to check if their implementation of 'Bit Minner' works. Also we should split samples through many developers to have some backup in case of someone's failure... what if Burnin will not complete his device... then e.g. BkkCoins could be another source of this or other electronics engineer.

No, not sample chips. 95% of 50,000+ chips from this group buy. I'm not saying to give all the chips to Burnin. But in that situation he definitely should get more than 2... I would go with 10 or 20 sample chips for Burnin and split the rest among other "large" developers - like BkkCoins and evilscoop. Of course, Sebastian is the one to decide.

All good folks... seems to be some miscommunication here.
the people handling this just took all the people who ordered, and sent them 30 chips a person since they finally arrived, I've spoken to them and this issue is addressed, so all should be fine.
of course, the 30 chip per 10,000 rule still holds, it's just they'll show up later.
I mean it's kinda silly to do per address since people would just get more addresses or split their orders into single 10,000 orders...

As long as Burnin gets around 30 chips, everything is fine. He needs one prototype finished 10 chip and 20 chip to make people happy, if you ask me.

I'd suggest changing the delivery address for batch 5 ![Smiley](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/smiley.gif) Send them to a family member nearby or something. I already speak with 3 companies that regularly import things. I will make a contract with them to deliver the chips to me. The companies will help to speed up customs because for private person customs can take up to 14 days. I only can change the addresses for the whole account. Just a suggestion (I have none in these batches so please feel free to ignore) but since the majority of people plan to use burnin's services, does it make sense to ensure that he has enough to finish his prototypes?
It would make perfect sense as Sebastian stated that 95% of chips from his group buy go to Burnin. Interesting idea to send the chips directly to burnin because it really looks like the most chips would go to burnin anyway. Though his company is new and small. I wonder if he could handle customs fast. But i will send them a pm simply to check this option out. It would make perfect sense as Sebastian stated that 95% of chips from his group buy go to Burnin.

Dont worry. I think one chips is needed and a second chip is good for a developer. Anything more is luxus that isnt really needed to test. So i would like to see that as many developers as possible will be able to test their design so that the options for the community are a good number. @krasnolud... as far as i understand it burnin doesnt need a full board to prove his design. He can make nearly all tests with one chip and chip communication tests with another chip. So i think he will be able to test his design fine.
