Graveyard indeed, and surprisingly everyone was hyped and excited with the coming of ETH , but as he went on with acquiring players that càn help him win games...it was almost clear that he couldn't fit into the shoes he was given !! I think the more important reason is that there are at least two teams which took an unprecedented development in the Premier League, namely Liverpool and Manchester City. When a team achieves 97 points and yet doesn't win the title, you know that there is another beast in the competition. I doubt that Manchester United would anytime soon get close to Manchester City specifically. I don't know what Liverpool will be looking like without Klopp, but Manchester City is set and determined to stay where they are.

Manchester United has been having issues for a while now when it comes to integrating new players. Whether that be loan players or some of the big transfers they made. I think one of the best examples for a failed transfer is Jadon Sancho and he is by far not the only one who was purchased and came to Manchester United evoking big hopes and optimism. And then a short while later he is leaving the club again after it became known that his relationship with ten Hag was said to be a catastrophe. Difficulty adapting may not be a strange thing in football, especially if you see players in the previous team performing quite brilliantly but when they join a new team they start to lose their best form. The FA cup as you have rightful said is the only available trophy for Manchester United this season plus also the fight for the champions league spot.
