Steve Cooper's time didn't last long at Leicester. I'm not surprised after getting so many losses. They lost the half amount of the games they played. The expectations must be better than this obviously after having a great time with Enzo Maresca before. They won the Championship title in the end while promoting to the Premier League.  Smiley

Ben Dawson is caretaker manager for now. I wonder who they will bring next. As Enzo Maresca is doing great at Chelsea there is no way they are having him back either. I hope they find the right one.
The deserve to sack Steve Cooper is not technically good as a manager; he has good players that can do well and better than they are doing currently, but his effort as the manager is not enough to help the team because the Premier League is a place where seriousness is required.

The partways with Enzo Maresca because Chelsea needed to sign him, and it is a dream of any manager to coach big teams; if not Maresca did well for Leicester City by promoting them to the Premier League by winning the Championship with some average players; I think if he is still in charge of the team, he can do better than Steve Cooper.

Ruud Van Neistroy is available if they will consider signing him because he is a good manager that can help the team in the current situation they are in now. To get serious and reputable coaches is hard because coaches do consider their reputation and the set players in any team they are joining so that they will set a goal because going to a team with financial problems and a lack of quality players will ruin the coach's reputation.

I came across this news today, and I think Salah has every reason to be disappointed. Not getting offer from the club he loves at this point means one thing, and that is a chance of him using the exit at the end of his contract. In as much as it is very important for every club to learn and get used to adapting and playing without some players, I think Salah still deserves maybe 1-2 years more. Allowing him to leave at once without even getting a key replacement will affect the team. We all know the impact he brings to the team. I hope Liverpool don't make similar mistake that they made when they let Sadio Mane used the exit.
It is actually strange that Liverpool still didn't extend Salah's contract. Liverpool should be easy to extend his contract because he is a very important part of Liverpool squad. I'm very sure Liverpool still needs much of Salah's role. Salah always makes big contribution in every single match, he surely deserves to play in Liverpool for more than 1-2 years. Well, if Salah really leaves Liverpool, I also believe Liverpool performance will start to declining much. Its impact is probably even bigger than  the impact of Mane's exit.

Moh Salah performed very well in the EPL, even he became the decisive player in Liverpool's victory.  In fact, he should still be the first choice even though he is 32 years old. I read the news that until now Moh Salah has not received new contract negotiations. This condition has made a lot of speculation that Moh Salah will leave Liverpool. Liverpool's time is not long, because in January Moh Salah could get a pre-contract with a new club. The fact that I see at the moment Liverpool still needs him very much. So at least 1-2 years is a realistic contract extension.

Source: https://www.goal.com/en/lists/liverpool-mohamed-salah-disappointed-failure-open-contract-talks-furious/blt03fa4d82bc8b8103
Salah at the moment is in a difficult situation, on the other hand he is still very consistent with his ability to score goals and provide assists, so I think he still deserves to get a contract extension even if it is short-term as you said, his age 32 maybe consideration for Liverpool at the moment, but it should not be a problem because his contribution on the pitch is still very significant in every Liverpool match so far, losing Salah could be a big blow for the team, especially considering his influence in important matches so far, In addition, no have  striker who is able to replace Salah role at Liverpool should be a concern for the current management before letting it go.
Clubs from the Saudi Pro League have shown a high interest in M Salah, in the previous transfer market they were even ready to offer a deal with a crazy nominal. If Liverpool management is late in trying to extend M Salah contract, they might lose their best striker at the end of the season for free. There is no doubt, even though he is already 32 years old, the Egyptian player is still the backbone of the team. Liverpool will have a hard time letting M Salah go, of course it is difficult to find a replacement for M Salah caliber in the transfer market. Many strikers are priced at high prices at the moment, but their performance is far from what is expected.

Although Leicester got so many losses, Steve Cooper improved their gameplay. He is not suit them well as a manager, which is the right decision to sack him. They have to find someone who could suit them better than him.

I know Ben Dawson is being appointed as a caretaker but it won't be so long. The latest news suggests Leicester is interesting to take back Potter as a their manager. I think that's a good decision. Potter has done well as Leicester's manager, and hopefully, he comes there asap.

“I don't know. What I know is that Kevin will decide by himself, like David Silva or others did..." was the exact response of Pep Guardiola when he was asked if Kelvin De Bruyne will stay or leave at the end of the current season. The Manchester City midfielder's  involvement for his club this season have been limited by injuries that's sidelined him. Personally I think his time at City is up so it'll be better for him to leave at the end of the season

While I do not think that Rodri will want to go to Madrid and just being polite, I also think that Madrid probably will not want him as long as they have these players. There was literally a whole controversy about Rodri winning Ballon D'or, and Vinicious was angry about it, but even if Vini somehow leaves for another club, they still had plenty of other players that said something about this, so Rodri would be amongst enemies there, even the club itself did not send a single staff to the award ceremony because of it.

From Florentino Perez statement alone it is clear that they do not want Rodri, they can buy any player they want without having to worry about Rodri with the Ballon d'Or but that does not mean Madrid is interested. Bringing him to Madrid will only damage the relationship between the current Madrid players.

I don't wanna trust Perez anymore. He's been lying many times, and it was his trick to keep the deal in private.

Perez said that many times when his club was linked to Mbappe's move a few years ago. Now, Mbappe's a part of Real Madrid. I expect the same thing to happen to the Rodri once his contract expired with Manchester City. Perez only keen to recruit a new player for free, and he didn't wanna pay a lot for that.

Let's expect the same narrative to happen with Rodri. Perez denies it now, but he will sign him later.

I also have the same thought. Florentino Perez is a man full of resourcefulness and he is also a great negotiator, so it would not be surprising if the opposite of what he said happened. If there are some Madrid people who are not happy about Rodri getting the Ballon d'Or, I don't think it's a big deal. Back then, Mbappe changed his mind and didn't go to Madrid, and that made almost everyone in Madrid angry and feel like they were being toyed with, but in fact, he is now a Madrid striker.

Such injuries put players out for a long time, Rodri will definitely not play this season, even if he somehow recovers in a medical sense, he will need some time to get into shape and generally return to the game after a long time without game practice. As for the next season, it looks like KDB will leave, plus many other players who are now 30+ will become a year older, in fact, Guardiola has the task of putting together a new team.

A whole lot of names will definitely leave Manchester City and at the same time a much younger squad will be added to this group.

Kevin De Bruyne, IIkay Gundogan, Diaz, Kyle Walker, are big names we are going to see leave the club next season. The chances of Pep and city winning the Premier league competition next season is very slim and far from happening. Rodri will return but not be fully fit and ready. Finally,  I love the idea of building a young and new squad.

While I understand the logic of good player going to good team making sense, the drama there isn't really over and wouldn't really make any sense at all, which is why I do not think that anything like this could ever be possible.

I find it hard to believe that Rodri would consider playing for Real Madrid at this time where there is a lot of tension in the club about the Ballon d’Or. Real Madrid is one of the biggest club in the world, with a rich history and global prestige that attracts almost all player but Madrid is not a good fit for Rodri at this time. Kylian Mbappe came from PSG to Madrid and look how they are using him as a scape goat. I think Rodri should remain in Manchester City and build a legacy at the club.

KDB has to realized if he's no longer young. He must have decided the future of himself. I think it's time for him to go to the Saudis club, like what he has said on his interview. He'd be seeking a job that paid him a lot of money, and Al Nassr wanted him to come.

He can leave at the end of season, then join in Al Nassr. He has fully explained his reason to think money is much more important to continue his life, and City is not going to increase his salary. I think he can leave at the end of season.

Saudis is the right place for him to continue his career until his retirement.

Who's next in line for that job should be nobody but Graham Potter who's good at handling underdogs like Leicester City. He will indeed be a good coach for them. I know they're not in the relegation zones right now buy, this is the perfect time to show copper the exit as he was doing a poor job.
I have read of the Graham Potters news and I was glad he's back. He is good at coaching underdogs but not experience enough to handle big clubs like Man United and Chelsea.
Graham Potter, David Moyes, and Ruud van Nistelrooy are the three coaches that are been considered. Graham Potter has been without a job since he left Chelsea last season. David Moyes has not gotten a job since leaving West Ham United in May.

The best man for the job as far as I know is Nistelrooy because of his recent performance at Manchester United. Although the two other coaches have more experience than the former Dutch striker, he is young, and his mates are the ones who are doing exploits in most top leagues.

The arrival of Amorim certainly makes the Management have to understand what he wants. I heard that Amorim will move a lot to strengthen the team in this transfer season. Reportedly, Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande will soon join Amorim at Man United. Actually, Man United competes with Man City, but Man City's problems make Ousmane not want to take much action with his future.

Source: https://www.skysports.com/football/transfer-paper-talk/12709/13258103/ousmane-diomande-sporting-lisbon-defender-favours-move-to-man-utd-rather-than-man-city-paper-talk
I completely agree. Manchester United should grant Ruben Amorim the authority to shape the squad by selling and also signing players that suits with his vision and strategies. This will help him to implement his tactical philosophy and build a competitive team. The potential move of Ousmane Diomande to Manchester United shows the kind of relationship Ruben Amorim has with his players. Diomande's desire to reunite with his former coach and continue his development under him is a positive sign. Also Viktor Gyökeres who thrived under Amorim at Sporting is rumoured to be joining Manchester United.

With all these players that are leaving the club, it means that City needs to start a new squad again because these are key players which City will be nothing without them. It might take some few years that City will win EPL again based on their seriousness. I hope that Pep will be able to build a new team with a new set of players within hi s short stay in the club.

Liverpool is having good results in the Premier League and the European Champions League and Salah has been a player who is helping Liverpool a lot, which is why I am shocked by this news:

Mo Salah: Disappointed? Yes, I’m disappointed. Of course I’m disappointed with the situation.

I have not seen any sort of proposal from Liverpool so far.

source: https://x.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1860981235398386116

I know Salah is 32 years old, but honestly he's not old, with his current performance, it shows that he could play well for another 2 seasons, that's why I expected Liverpool to extend his contract for another 2 seasons. . But from what I see, Liverpool's management is still not convinced that he wants to stay with the team for more seasons. I'm wondering who would be the young player who could replace Salah if he leaves, one of the big mistakes that many teams have made and when they win the league, they let go of old players. I see that Liverpool also intends to follow this path

I think everyone will agree that Mo Salah has been Liverpool's most trusted and consistent players over the years and rewarding him with a contract extension would be only be right. Salah has not only been the focal point of Liverpool's attack but also a leader and an inspiration on and off the pitch. This season, he has continued to show his fine form, delivering crucial goals and assists, and playing a vital role in Liverpool's success both in the Premier League and the Champions League.

While I understand the logic of good player going to good team making sense, the drama there isn't really over and wouldn't really make any sense at all, which is why I do not think that anything like this could ever be possible.

Rodri have already shared his opinion with us that currently he didn't have any intention to leave the club and also told us that if he leaves he will choose up Barcelona over real Madrid. So there is nothing to remain discussed between Rodri and Real Madrid. Still he is a Manchester city player and maybe he could stay for 2 years more. Because Manchester city coach Pep has extended his contract and he wants to keep Rodri as his club player. In my opinion Rodri will not be happy to play in Real Madrid in the presence of Vinicius Junior due to Balloon rigid.

So I think we should close the chapter of both Rodri and Real Madrid. There are so many players who have much better ability than Rodri for example Joshua Kimmich. He has much more quality than Rodri. Currently he is 29 years old and his defensive driving position is undoubtedly world class. Real Madrid should think about it instead of Rodri.

From Florentino Perez statement alone it is clear that they do not want Rodri, they can buy any player they want without having to worry about Rodri with the Ballon d'Or but that does not mean Madrid is interested. Bringing him to Madrid will only damage the relationship between the current Madrid players.
It became a wise thing to do especially for now Rodri is also in the ACL healing phase which of course when he recovers there will certainly be some things that might indeed be used as a re-adaptation so why force the will if in the end there are a lot of negative effects, especially with chemistry and relationships between players.

In addition, previously I quite liked Rodri because he was always able to put on the best performances without making too many statements but after he got the Ballon D'Or he seemed to make more statements which were actually annoying and recently he also commented on Cristiano and Messi.
Although this is fine to do, I think after he got the ballon d'Or this season he talked too much especially when he was injured when he should have done more training camps on his own while waiting for recovery which still takes time.

But the guy is a football junky, he said it himself when he was asked whether he considers stopping his career and whether he believes that Klopp will come back one day as a club manager. He is 53 years old now and it is hard to see him stop being a coach altogether. It is far more likely that he will become the coach of the Spanish national team. In regards to potential clubs, it is indeed true that once you trained Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, there isn't really anything else to go for and as far as I know, Real Madrid is not an option due to the rivalry.

Definitely agree with you, there is a saying that leave when the applauses are the loudest, personally I respect the decision of Pep Guardiola to trying to agree to a new deal at the club it shows that he is definitely not one of those who run away when the club is crisis. I was expecting him to walk off right when they won the treble last season and I think he definitely was on it. Him leaving his contract until the end like this meant that he had plans of exit but the bad performance of Manchester city and the charges they face made him change his mind, I read one time when he said they will stick together till the club gets out of this mess, it’s a good gesture but my worry is what will he do when the club is found guilt and possibly punished with a relegation to the Championship

We can't really tell because Pep Guardiola has never been going through a crisis! Cheesy That is why we can't tell whether he would be someone to leave.

But this is some interesting information here: Guardiola signs new City contract!

It is from just a few days ago and he wouldn't be doing that if he was already playing around with the idea to leave Manchester City. I couldn't find the new expiration date, but I assume it is now 2027? Was this current contract going until 2025 or 2026 because then it would be until 2028 if he signed for an "additional" two years. From what I read it is 2027, which is a strong signal sent by him in a time of crisis.

What I don't fully understand about the financial fair play rules is what would happen if they did indeed get relegated because of legal trouble and then the Manchester City sheikhs would be willing to continue paying all the players those high salaries, would that be allowed or would they break any financial fair play rules if they had to go down in the Championship? I wonder what the baseline is there to determine how much it is allowed to be paid in salaries to all the players.

They will not be able to pay those players from their own pocket, players salaries are paid from revenue generated and they are not going to generate anything  near half of what they're currently generating. It's against FFP.

That was my question, but the reason I brought this up is because I read that Barcelona sold all types of licenses and turn so many things into assets from broadcasting rights to stadium names to whatever else they could license and then sell to investors. Would that all count as revenue is what I am wondering. So far these systemically relevant clubs have found solutions that somehow got accepted. The only club that got relegated as a consequence of a penalty was Juventus Turin some time in the past. But I think that was because of corruption and not any financial fair play violations.

The big question is whether the Premier League would go hard on them and relegate one of the most important Premier League teams. Manchester City is a serious figurehead for the Premier League and while I am for fair rules and clubs honoring them, I have my doubts that they don't find a faulty deal where the Premier League and Manchester City get away with a black eye.

I know that Barcelona was so often talked about and how they have more than a billion in debt, but it never had the serious consequences everyone thought it would have. There is so much politics going on behind the scenes, I think this would be the same for Manchester City.

I know that Barcelona was so often talked about and how they have more than a billion in debt, but it never had the serious consequences everyone thought it would have. There is so much politics going on behind the scenes, I think this would be the same for Manchester City.

That is because people did not really know what they're talking about. Te media, especially the english media kept using Barcelona for click bait and the fans, mostly rival fans didn't even bother to find out what was really going on, they just ran with whatever agenda they wanted.
Same thing with the Manchester City case right now. Rival fans have notread the charges to see if they even made sense. Some don't even care if its true, they just want Manchester City to be punished.

Barcelona was in debt, so is every other club. Check all the big clubs in Europe, you'll see that every single one of them is in at least 300 million debt. Most are in a debt worth 500 million.
Barcelona's main problem is not that they were not generating money, but they could spend only a quarter of the money they made a year. I believe you've heard the "1:4" saying. That's what it means.

Most of Barcelona's problems where they couldn't register players were because of the restrictions of La liga. Every season, La liga publishes the salary cap of each club and due to the debt of Barcelona, their salary cap was too low. So even if they made a billion every day, they couldn't have a total salary that's above the number La liga has given to them. That was why they relied on free transfers and had to release a lot their players and reduce the salaries of their players.

The reason why many were actually looking at him leaving was the fact that his current contract was just signed with two years and after winning the treble and his most soughted after trophy which was the champions league. We all thought he will actually call it a quit and there was numerous indications from his comments after the triumph but it was later after city was taken to court that some media started their propaganda about him running away from crisis.

He later cleared the air that he was sticking around the club till the end, this contract extension was just last week and this weekend game was the first game after the extension, the new contract runs till 2027 because this current one expires 2025.

I think there is nothing wrong with Rodri's statement. He is trying to relieve the tension. Real Madrid seems also tends to be more calmed now. It is a wise way that Rodri can do right now, he also think realistically about his possible future. Rodri is Spanish football, he was born in Madrid. He must assume it is not impossible that he returns to Spain and join Real Madrid someday. Although he has a contract with man City until 2027, we don't know that he will stay in Man City until the end of his contract. If there is an offer from Real Madrid, he may try to take the opportunity to join Real Madrid. Well, this is football, everything is possible to happen.  Wink
