I'll be honest: I think it's always sad when a young player leaves Europe to go play in Saudi Arabia because he wants to earn more money but in this case, taking into consideration Vinicius as a person, I won't miss him.

I don’t think any young player is even suppose to leave Europe and go to Saudi Arabia league. As a young talented player, you are not suppose to go after money, you should focus more on your career, most players going to Saudi league are just doing that just because of money. We all know Saudi is really paying players well, and that’s what they using to get player’s attention, but as a young player, if you decide to join Saudi league, then you killing your career just because of money.

Am not against players going to Saudi league, but even if you will be doing that, then it should be when you are about to retire from football. Saudi league has less attention, so as a player growing, if you decide to join the league, then you going to be making money, but you going to be killing your career.

Everyone is different and not everybody actually cares about making a name in football. For many players it's just a job so they simply go wherever they make the most money, whether it's England, Saudi Arabia or China, it doesn't matter. And I think each player should know his real value. For example a player like Retegui did a smart thing accepting to move to Saudi Arabia because he knows he is just a good player and now he is making crazy money. If I were him, I would have done the same. He would have never received offers from Real Madrid, Liverpool, PSG, etc so between playing for Atalanta making 2 millions/year and move to Saudi Arabia and make 20 millions/year the choice was easy.

Vinicius of course could perfectly stay in Europe considering his abilities but he is not honest with himself: he is not as good as Mbappé, he is not the best in the world, therefore he can't ask for that money.

My friend, even Cristiano Ronaldo's place at Real Madrid has been filled. That's why no player is irreplaceable. In my opinion Vinicius Junior is too inconsistent: he can play beautifully and then disappears completely for the next 2-3 matches. I don't know if you guys remember Messi and Ronaldo when they were 25 years old, they were incredibly consistent almost all the time. The news was when they wouldn't score, it's a completely different situation compared to Vinicius'. He should learn to be more pragmatic and also play more for the team. I think he has some type of inferiority complex toward Mbappé because he knows the French is better than him and he doesn't like that. Vinicius' biggest problem is Vinicius himself.

Whoever told James Trafford that he was going to be the number one for a struggling Manchester City team lied to him even if it was Pep himself. He should have known it wasn't going to happen, I said it here that period that James was not going to be the number one keeper. He was quite unlucky but yeah he is still 23 years old and there is no reason for him to stay at the bench when he could be a main goalkeeper elsewhere. His record was actually pretty decent as well, he only conceded once out of 4 times playing with City before Donnarumma took his spot. I guess he made that decision after conceded 2 goals against Bayer in UCL, he has lost his touch after being benched for quite long

Of course Vinicius is a very talented player that when in good shape he is really a dangerous player but what I dislike about him is the inconsistency with him, sometimes he will be looking good and lively while sometimes he will be looking terrible and struggle to even dribble past a defender. You're right his ego is weighing him down that's why he not able to reach that level. It is political, otherwise money is of course accepted. The discussions are way too political to get in, I am not going to talk about Saudi nation as a whole, that's not something I would like to get in here. But the ones who do not respect players who go there, say that because of who Saudis are, and what they do, and the ones who support it, do it because other nations are also questionable, no nation is clean from guilt.

So obviously, I agree that if someone offered me 100 million a year, I would have hard time saying no as well. Xabi knows he needs him. Vinicius is one of Real Madrid's key players. In previous years, when Mbappé wasn't around, he single-handedly controlled the team's attacking power. Before he was signed, Donnarumma PSG stay wasn't certain clubs offers has been coming already but James Trafford seems like their long term target but sadly he was making errors and wasn't too good as they wanted which forced them to opt for Donnarumma in the end.
