The final refund amount is 1,393.94415407 BTC[1], which correlates to the initial estimate of ~1400 BTC. The *official* timeline is as follows:

  • 1) Thursday, August 30 - Vote closes.
  • 2) Friday, August 31 - Snapshot[2].
  • 3) Saturday, September 1 - Refunds begin[3].

Notes:
[1] Once I have a total transaction fee estimate, this amount will be appropriately truncated at a certain decimal. This will also be mentioned in one of the following posts.
[2] The snapshot time will be random (i.e. exact time of day will not be announced) to prevent any adversary from gaming the system. Everyone is advised to remove any sell orders that you might have on the market and/or move to an appropriate wallet if necessary. If you own the private key to the address where your NVST is, then you are good to go. You, and only you, are liable in the event that you fail to adhere to adhere to this. The snapshot will be archived and a link to it will be provided to the public.
[3] The amount of time for all refunds to be processed can not be estimated. I'll be available every single day until this is completed, but each transaction requires another signatory. Every transaction will be created and verified manually. There is no room for errors.

Appendix:
1) The address 1HF9qmvVz6EMu5ihjkbstpBwAVb9jdm9Lh will be excluded from the refunds. On it are unallocated tokens which can't be distributed. This issue stems from a chain of events which led to essentially what I'd call, theft of both the NVO domain and the database. The amount on it is 449,660.58536489 NVST, which represents 2.9977372357659333% of the supply. The exact percentage of the refund balance, which is 41.78678295 BTC will be set aside until a solution to this issue is found. I have decided to not let this issue delay the refund.
2) Therefore, the amount of issued tokens is 15 000 000 - 449,660.58536489 = 14 550 339.4146. The amount of BTC that will be refunded over this amount is 1,393.94415407 - 41.78678295 = 1352.15737112. This represents a rate of 0.00009292961 BTC/NVST. Example ~ refund amounts:
1k NVST -> 0.09292961 BTC.
10k NVST -> 0.9292961 BTC.
100k NVST -> 9.292961 BTC.

Update:
1) Addresses that contain less than 0.1 NVST (~$0.06) will be excluded from the process as it makes no economic sense to do this. This affects about 345 addresses based on sample data (no snapshot yet), containing ~0.934 NVST. This saves about 11730 bytes of data (assuming 34 bytes per output) needed for the refund.
2) We will need at least 166 090 bytes to process this (34*4885). At 1-2 sat/byte this is 0.00166090 - 0.0033218, which means that we will truncate the amount after the reduction at the third decimal --> 1352.154 BTC.
3) Last address to be refunded is #4890.
4) Snapshot:

You don't need to do anything. Just make sure you own the private key to the address on which your NVST tokens are.

I received an email about project cancellation,
I am not quite sure if I understand correctly - is that true?
And what should I do if I participate in ICO with currency other than BTC?
How could I get refund then?

If you participated, you have NVST. If you have NVST, you have a Bitcoin address. Therefore, you will receive your share of BTC just like anyone else.

Very good question, from what I have gathered from Ton in chat is they're planning something regarding how many nvst you have regardless if you voted yes or no.

You don't need to do anything. Just make sure you own the private key to the address on which your NVST tokens are.

Was doing my monthly portfolio checking and check out how this NVST(my first ever ICO) is doing. This refund update surprised me so much and I'm sorry to hear the halt of the project.

Have to make sure how can I get the refund. I did not move the NVST under the bitcoin address since the I received those tokens, so I don't have to do anything and the BTC refund will be coming in to the same bitcoin address?

Yes, you don't have to do anything. And if you're looking for an alternative DEX investment, check out AURA (IDEX), OAX and/or BCO (CryptoBridge).

Hello wgd,

Yes, the project was cancelled, we are currently going through refund process (starting 01/09/2018).

> The official timeline is:
30/08/2018 | Vote Ends
31/08/2018 | Snapshot
01/09/2018 | Start of Refund

> What happened?
It as decided that the project will not be continued as it is presented to the investors today. Due to an internal conflict, the team members have decided to carry on on their own.
On the 17th of August 2018 the voting process started. In was among others in the investors hands to either vote for or against a refund.

>The"3%"
Here's the thing. There are 3% of the total supply that have not yet been distributed to the investors, unfortunately. We are deeply sorry about that. We could solve that, if there wouldn't be this huge problem. Turns out Imed & Nik (developer) took the NVO database containing all the relevant information for the distribution & they are not quite willing to hand them back to Ton. We are trying to figure it out though.

Hey guys,

Mick here. I'm currently the community manager at the NVO Project - nice to meet you all, lots of you guys know me already.

This was posted in the Telegram chat yesterday. I edited the original a bit, the meanings were not changed though.

(1) Imed tried to remove Ton from the team after collaborating with him for 1 year but Yanni said 'No'.
(2) Imed intentinally took the domain (nvo.io) at the start of the ICO to have monopoly over the team. Also he isolated Ton from both the escrows & developers (zero communication)
(3) Xenio wasn't a finished project since it never worked as intended. Imed & Nik (developer) lied about it to make the ICO more successful. (Can be verified through GitHub & BitcoinTalk)
(4) A couple of weeks back, Imed tried to forge a signature on a document to apply for a visa in Malta to liquidate the Bitcoin since cryptocurrencies of any kind are banned in Algeria.
(5) When Imed was younger, he had troube with Interpol for buying stolen PayPal accounts (via FedEx shipment).
(6) Imed was living in poverty (sleeping on the street) until he met Yanni
(7) Imed is a pathological liar, narcissist with no empathy and a quick temper. (Can be confirmed by those who have talked with him via a video conference)
(Cool It's very likely that Imed uses cocaine. Ton & Community members have noticed that he has talked very quick sometimes.
(9) Imed faked a relationship, meaning being interested in Yanni, only to be involved in this project.
(10) Imed sold DVDs in a company owned by Yanni. Imed's official statement was that he owns the company.
(11) Imed has several criminal records locally in Algeria for street violence
(12) Imed does not really know how Bitcoin works & recently learned how to use a block explorer. He read a lot to play his role as a "CTO" by parroting what he read without a full understanding of the technology.
(13) Imed used Ton's girlfriend's name to register a CloudFlare account without permission.
(14) Imed asked for the passports of employees to make sure that they are afraid of him - in the context of doing a background search.
(15) Imed screwed things up with MaidSafe (can be viewed in the SafeNetwork Forum) - starting a discussion (very strong language) because the MaidSafe CEO ignored Imed.
(16) He has no fear lying to people. He's actually so confident that not a lot of people recognize his lies.
(17) Every phone call (team) he would quickly end the conversation with "I'm busy working" when Imed actually wasn't.
(18) When Imed was angry he talked about murdering people with Yanni. To the outside he was "only joking".
(19) Before Ton removed Imed, they had a call after the NVO Community Manager wasn't responding to Imed's messages. Imed "joked" that the Community Manager would need to bent over (Homosexual Joke)
(20) Ton believes that Imed asked the escrows for their home address to send them "gifts". This was most likely to make sure that if things like this happen, they would be on his side (Confirmation on that one is pending since the call was very shaky). Imed told investors and the team he was friends with the escrows - making sure Ton wouldn't talk to the escrows or get Imed removed from the project.

So reviewing this we are looking at at least 5 criminal acts which just go by like this. Can it really be? That's scary.

Hello Mike, we have no reasons to believe you. Those are just empty claims without support, I can literally pull the same out of my ass about any side of this project, including your own self, your neighbor's dog or my own mother. Writing bullet points and trying to sound serious doesn't make things true. It will never be really clear what happened, to me all the people that support any of the developers or take heavy sides are part of the whole fiasco. After all, you are paid by one of the sides, you've been put as a community manager by the same person that lied to us for months and had zero grasp on the project.

Most of the claims you made come from your boss, they are empty and have zero value. Surely, they could make us think and consider the possibility of them true, but I have no reason to trust your boss that hasn't been upfront and refused transparency for a year with stupid excuses. It's sad to see a rather sensible man, yourself, be blinded by money and sweet talk. This is money speaking, this isn't truth or facts speaking until proven.

And proving such claims is extremely hard if not impossible.

I am sorry, but as far as I am concerned, anything that comes from either of the sides is full of shit. The way your boss handled the downfall was enough for a lot of us to see that he is about as untrustworthy as the person you are trying to attack.

Refund and forget.

Cheers.

hi everyone,

some of my nvst never moved since I bought them using XCP, so they're still on this ,website', got the private key tho... but not till couple of days, as it is in a secure place.

is everything fine for the refund?

i guess that all the others nvst, that never moved since the ico (electron and stuff) are fine on their side, after reading last posts on the thread.

i really feel you guys are on a hurry, everything happened correctly, but too quickly imo...

thanks in advance
