Thanks for replys, CJ, Ben and Benny.

I did some testing with average power draw, and average hash rate, over different power targets/OC a while back, using nicehash (so varying payrates)

It gets complicated rather quickly, but I do see your points

What I'm wondering is where to draw the line, pushing it for example, from 218mBTC to 239mBTC (720sols to 770sols) on one 80ti would actually cost more in electric, but gets more mBTC

Not too concerned about the longevity as 5y warranty, and I only have a few, so return and replace would not cost me anything significant downtime.
UK, so even now in July heat is not an issue. (cry)

More cards on a circuit, smaller psu's and other electrical concerns, yes totally understand that, things are different for us all.

My calculations are probably off, I'll have to try them again, or keep doing them as things change and adjust the power accordingly. There are a lot of variables, I'm kinda trying to reduce the complexity some.

Regards

It's hard to tell because our cards might have different PCB and different power layouts and defaults. But suffice it to say you probably aren't going to want to run it at 100%, where that sweet spot is for absolute optimum will probably depend on the individual card, pay rate, projected increase in hash power, how bullish you are on the coin, temperatures, and probably other things.

You're obviously really trying to dial it in. Gotta go card by card I would imagine. Not sure how much variance there is between individual cards in your model.

^^^ agree

@miner14   keep in mind these are technically gamer cards, they weren't really built to run 24/7 at 100% load , thats asking for trouble 6 months+ down the road imo .  course if that dosent matter to you, disregard that, some people are balls to the wall on their cards haha

the great thing about the 1080ti is its such a beast limiting the power really dosent affect hash TOO bad, so the benefits are like 5 to the one bad part (less hash)

Living in some states we get tiered metering.   Going for less power is more profit unless you have solar.  If we hit over 400% over the baseline they will charge us 40 cents.    But they don't charge everything at 40 cents.  One month we got charge $70 worth at tier 3 while before solar we got charge $340.  Majority of the time we are at tier 2 which is 28 cents.

are you referring to those 13 pcie slots mobo or 6,7 pcie slots mobo in general? it really depends  where you stand at whether you are starting up or already have cards runnig. the answer to this question is going to be different for each individual

7 cents ?! Where is that Heaven on Earth ? Here in Atlanta , GA we pay 15 cents (if combine all fees , taxes ) in Summer season 5 moths  from May to September . And that is with nuclear power plant , outrageous . Is there a map of ACTUAL power cost per states somewhere ?  Id move to a 7 cents state in heartbeat Cheesy Heat , humidity and expensive power , 15 cents is plain robbery with nuclear reactor power plant in state Sad

Off topic a bit

Any guru here can help advise how to set the batch file to force rerun the miner every one hour?

Example while the miner is running, how to auto rerun in one hour.

This is to prevent at some point the hashrate gone to zero that need manual stop n re run

Thanks

Is the one card that is slower have a display attached?  If it does try shutting down the machine, changing the display to another GPU and test again.  I bet you'll see a correlation.  I did.

Anyone  trying out this SIGT  "Skunk-raptor" algo?

Im always liking to try the 1080ti's on the new algos so tried it out

52.5 mh/s on Zotac at 100%TDP -i 25, +150core/ +400 mem
48mh/s seems more viable as far as efficecy goes, 70%ish tdp, the usual for 1080ti ;p

gigabytes max at 48mh/s for me, algos pretty intense on them, cheap bastards haha

dosent have an exchange yet, so i mined a few and will wait now, see where it goes

thx for reply, but it was teamviewer. When i log in with teamviewer 1 card is getting 100mhs less, all good now ~950mhs ;]

But i wonder why temp limit effects my hashrate? tdp70 temp 73 = 950mhs, tdp70 temp 65 = 850mhs ;/

Might be throttling if you have a temp limit set

cool, I have 10000 DGBs, 1080ti is very efficient on DGB-skein.
