Cryptonight is highly dependent on memory speed and could really use something that would improve NVIDIA performance.
Today, only AMD can be used because NVIDIA is just too slow on Cryptonight.

Cryptonight is big mining business today and there are a few variations of the algo in order to facilitate ASIC resistance.

According to NIST and ECRYPT II, the cryptographic algorithms used in Bitcoin are expected to be strong until at least 2030. (After that, it will not be too difficult to transition to different algorithms.)

Hello to everyone!

I searched your post and there is only 1 reference on protein folding. I am writing this to let you know that since 2014, there are 2 coins that reward computational work done on the Foldign@Home network (http://folding.stanford.edu/). This way you can put your precious 1080Ti to good use, while earning money.

The coins I am referring to are FoldingCoin (https://foldingcoin.net/) and CureCoin (https://curecoin.net/). You can find all the relevant information you require in their websites.

You can also find a profit calculator on both sites (here's one https://foldingcoin.net/index.php/resources/profit-calculator, your cards average about 1.1 mil points), as well as links to their active Discord communities.

Both projects have an ANN thread here in the forum (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=781352.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=603757.0).

Feel free to ask any questions either on Discord or on their respective ANN threads in the forum.

I also give you 2 videos that shortly explain what Folding@Home and FoldingCoin are. For those who don't have time to browse through the websites Wink

I have a small rig on the side running with 2 1070, I'm building a new 1080ti rig.
But can i add one 1080ti to rig with 1070 it will work fine together?
Should I mine the same thing with al three or can I arrange 1080 for the others too without much headache?

You can mix cards, no problem there.

You can add 1080ti without problem, also you can mine different coins with different cards. You just have to config miners correctly.

If it's possible, yes (the others have already answered you on that)
If you should mine the same algo or different for the 1070s and the 1080ti, that depends on what you mine.

If you mine a specific coin and hold it, then maybe you should mine with all cards but it depends on the algo. If you mine whatever coin is more profitable and swap it, then these 2 cards don't excel on the same algos and you might want to setup two instances of NemosMiner or a similar software.

For example a 1070 is "mh... okay" for ETH but the 1080ti is terrible. On the X17 they're pretty equal and I believe the 1080ti performs better on X16r.
It's not hard to set every card on a different miner and algo, it depends on your knowledge and your nerves!

ETHlargement effect is interesting only for the ETH or for any algorithm that requires fast memory

It is interesting for nothing. Even ZEC gives 10-20% more profit. We need new alexis, new miner for new cards and green algos.

That is right. I tried with ZEC mining. There is no difference.

Okay, real talk.

ZEC isn't memory bandwidth dependent - not really, not like ETHash. It's compute dependent (and latency bound), so ETHlargement won't be working for this. And there's a reason for that.

What you'll need is EQUILargement. Coming soon. Wink

i keep mixed 1080ti and 1070 rigs due to power
reqs on the 1080tis, i keep them on the same algos, 1070s are not as good on 16r but they are far better than any amd card

I love to know the new GPU mining coin. so I can mine more for less difficulty.
I came to know new----- PoWer coin---- and starting to mine it, good to know their developers to get tricks from community https://discord.gg/D9rsP2Q

Everything flows, everything changes. Ah wasn that except your consciousness. It is straightforward and short-sighted. For letters you don't see the point.
