Drugs may be new net currency fall

July 24, 2011 at 11:51, Updated: 24 July 2011 at 14:55

A new currency is emerging on the Internet. Net currency Bitcoin traded without middlemen and fees and expected by users challenge current banking system. But U.S. politicians now want to prohibit Bitcoin when they suspect that the anonymous and highly encrypted currency used by drug dealers.
Netdrugexpert Cecilia Fant of the Criminal Investigation Department says that a similar ban may be the case also in Sweden.

Haven't seen any international sites reporting on this though

Thanx.

I didn't get *any* feedback on my effort to bring all these references to the wiki Press page.
I would continue by adding this one, too but somehow feel like I'm the only one that thinks it is a good idea to have screen shots and some meta data.
Sorry for bringing this up again but if there is no reaction at all I would assume it is a waste of time but telling me "hey, it is a waste of time" would help big deal.

(As I don't understand Swedish and now see the need to have an english excerpt in the template, I'm bringing this up, now.)

It's by TT, the Swedish equivalent to AP. The one published at DI.se (largest industry/economy paper in Sweden) is a lot longer and better though - quoting Falkvinge.

I don't think everything the press has ever written about Bitcoin needs to be on the page. I also don't think screenshots are needed.

+1, though I think this thread would largely duplicate said wiki page...

thanx for a reply. ok then only the most notable articles? with original point of views? for me it is also noteworthy to see the first article in a new country etc.
the forum is no good place for presenting articles. only for collecting them.

(pcmag picks up on the same tax graphic as others..)

(
the article says:

"stay tuned for PCMag's expanded lesson on Bitcoins"

Let's hope the next article is less sensationalist.

It's slightly hidden as a flash presentation behind an email-address snaffler
