I find it interesting that they post the actual bitcoin donation addresses directly in this article. Is it normal for a mainstream media outlet to publish instructions on how to donate to someone who's been arrested.. or is it that the journalist wanted to emphasize the bitcoin association?
I can't imagine them publishing the bank account details of where to donate to someone's legal fund..   Would they normally even publish a donation URL?

Ultimately, I think we may start to see more software created by P2P/hacktivist groups like Anonymous and LulzSec – groups that may be difficult to sue because of their amorphous nature. Innovation by non-state networks is an important trend that I think will generate much value in the coming years. As for how to invest in these black market economies, that remains to be seen. It will likely involve a different approach than participating in publicly traded markets on official exchanges within the nation-state economy. The growing popularity of Bitcoin may be an early step in laying the foundation for such a system.
