Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Do I need to set server=1, rpc and port stuff if I'm mining with CPU using just YAC wallet?  Huh

Any donation, maybe?

Y6F5sE1Xi5gbwLkKkMHSTst2CsF5URkmgW

No. you just have to start it up as stated in OP.
-genproclimit=x is the number of cores used by the CPU for mining

Donatioins always welcome Wink

Be good to check temps with something like realtemp or OCCT.  If it's under 60C then 24/7 is fine.  Lots of people run even hotter.

-genproclimit is to limit CPU usage.

I got it working by changing router firewall rules. The NAT doesn't matter.

1. Use only the official Yacoin client because it has the changes in the scrypt algo. Other clients won't work (bogus information above).
2. Launch it from the command line (windows) from the appropriate directory:
Code:
 C:\yacoin\yacoin-qt -gen -genproclimit=4 -addnode=82.211.30.212
3. It should launch the Yacoin client and mine invisibly in the background
3. The genproclimit=4 number tells the cores/threads to use, my cpu has 4 cores. (genproclimit=-1 is unlimited/max by default)
4. Check with the task manager (left click taskbar -> task manager -> performance tab) that your cpu cores are mining (100%).
5. If it doesn't work, check that your router/firewall allows the use of this application/port.
6. Be sure that your CPU is not overheating because it is using 100% all the time. Normally you are not using such loads (not even in games).
