For sure bitcoin can't be number one forever. New crypto currencies are coming up and though it might take some time but with time they will grow stronger and better

Eventhough bitcoin has many advantages and has been used by most of investors on the world, however it still have disadvantages that can make bitcoin be replaced by altcoins in the future like: huge amount of transactions make it slow and delay for a day, however there many altcoins that has been created and more advance and perfect than bitcoin waiting to rise and replace bitcoin, so oneday in future, altcoins will rise and defeat bitcoin.

I dont think this may happen in sometime in 2-5 years. Although we see bitcoin having forks, and thought this might weaken bitcoin in a way, but in the end, it is still going to rise like it always does. It could even become stronger later on.

It is a fact that bitcoin will not survive forever, because everything related to digital technology advances by leaps and bounds and sooner or later all innovation tends to become obsolete over the years. However, I think that bitcoin has many years of validity, and I'm not so sure that ethereum is the one who ends up displacing it.

I’m sure bitcoins will still be number one in 10 years, but bitcoins have its problems, fees are high, and it takes to long time to send it.
We might see other crypto’s who works much faster and cheaper than bitcoins, that will be the favorite payment method; I will be surprise if we don’t
And then Bitcoins will just be that crypto everyone store, but never wants to use, and the Bitcoin price will just keep rising.

I read articles about it, I think now it is not possible. It is very dangerous game.

Well since our technology keeps on growing, we can't tell that bitcoin will remain on top. But it doesn't matter for me because i believe that time is way too far from now and if it happens I am sure, I'm already rich because of bitcoin that time.

While I'm a big Ehtereum fan boy, I don't see it surprising Bitcoin's market cap any time soon, especially when investors with previously accurate predictions are estimating 20K+ within the next few years. That's one hell of a hill for any of the alts to climb.

My point of view is Bitcoin is just eight years completed and seeing its performance lot of alternate coin has been created in line to it. It doesn't mean that others can overtake bitcoin also nothing is impossible but bitcoin has its own value and its rate proved that it is growing only so at least for next twenty five years it is not possible to defeat bitcoin and it is going to remain as No.1.

I thought for sure it would take until the end of 2018 but it looks like this summer ethereum might pass it up. With the turmoil around BTC potential splitting, it might be very soon. IMO this is healthy, we will always value bitcoin for being the one that started it all, but it's time for a more dynamic and adaptable currency to take the lead.
There is a possibility that other cryptocurrency might pass bitcoin but we dont know when it will happen. Since there are many cryptocurrency that exist, some of them might have a potential to grow and develop more and as a result, it may rise and surpass other cryptocurrency in the top.

No one includes a thoughts to provide a guaranteed declaration that bitcoin will no longer be number one. Everybody explains having a dilemma it might happen as more digital forex with diverse functions were entering digital currencies market regularly. This might function as a competent,  but by no means replace bitcoin.

I dont think its gonna happen. What i am saying is bitcoin is too powerfull now, no coin can be competitor of this king coin.
So lets see if any coin born and maybe it will change bitcoin in the top. But i am sure it will not be etherium.

The market cap of Bitcoin Cash has surged past $11 billion. Quite impressive for a crypto-currency, which was launched just 3 months back. 1 BCH coin is now worth almost 0.1 BTC. And the Core devs are refusing to do anything to resolve the scaling issues. This means that in the future there is a strong chance that BCH will replace BTC.

im absolutely in love with Ethereum, but i dont think it will surpass bitcoin in price. first off, if the prices start correcting that aggressively and dynamically, they are more likely to meet in the middle. you arent going to see bitcoin price stagnate long enough for eth for straight up outpace it; it will come down quite a bit as that capital flows out of bitcoin ans into eth. secondly, moreso than the price getting surpassed, I think we would see the volume getting surpassed. way easier feat to accomplish, and would make sense if the cause of the "shift" was organic, and not manufactured pump and dump bullshittery Wink

Its a really hard operate for Bitcoin is the number one at block chain cryptocurrency. And it is difficult to surpass  Bitcoin for the basis it built along its run. The Bitcoin investors, transactors, and employees which trust Bitcoin won't let Bitcoin fall for what its constructed but they will allow it to be able.

I don't believe the hype in any of these ICOs which are coming out and most are scams or likely scams in the long term. ICOs are just out to make their quick money and then bail on the project.
For this the bitcoin is best because all the people will have the bitcoin investment and I hope it will buy the more bitcoin for the people so this will be the best time for the people to increase the profit and the money for the people who are holding the bitcoin for the long time and they will get the profit I hope this will make the bitcoin more high and a lot of the people will buy the bitcoin all the capital they have.

Yes, forks are important, but forks may be a turning point. I think bitcoin now exists too big bubble, we should pay attention to the risk. Especially after the candy, there may be people

Completely agree. Reminds me of the operating system wars. Windows like bitcoin being inferior yet survived and maintained dominace through manipulation, hype and a rabid fanbase, resulting in decades of stagnation and forced mainstream adoption. Bitcoin may yet survive but not because it is better but because of what this site and many others like it are doing by basically being a marketing platform for it and ultimately... pushing this pig up the hill.

You have a point but the thing here is, bitcoin is the first crypto currency in the making, not only that but also because it has the highest price of them all. There is no way that bitcoin will be passed by Ethereum, we know that there is a lot more better than bitcoin and ethereum still they are still staying at their prices and keeping their values up because there are a lot of people demanding of there cryptos.
