I don't think that the popularity of cryptocurrency can make real money disappear. Because Bitcoin is a mode of payment similar to credit cards (Amex/Visa/Master) and PayPal. Fiat currency was not affected by the popularity of credit cards and Paypal. So I guess the case with Bitcoin will be similar. It will be having minimal effect on the fiat currency.

Bitcoin is itself a currency not only a method of payment.
Paypal didn't issue paypal coins nor did Visa or Mastercard.

But indeed the effect will not be that large, mainly because in most countries the infrastructure is not in place not the law environment and of course not last the people.Attitude towards crypto or digital things is different from country to country and culture.

If it happens It will probably be 100 years away, and the government wont lose control of money.  They will probably create their own digital currency.

If they go with total control then they don't need crypto , they already have control over digital fiat.
And with some countries like Sweden going almost cashless, it's pretty much done.

What are the chances of living in a world with no actual money ?  Shocked

Nope, this is impossible and I am against of it. Money or traditional currency is really important for "on the go" stuff. Cryptocurrency can be accepted by  all countries but as alternative only or like a credit card with of course blockchain technology
Nothing is impossible. I think it will terminate the use of paper money from our planet in next few years. The way bitcoin and altcoins are being recognized by everyone gradually is an indication of their use in future and let's just say that it won't be bitcoin or altcoins but some countries and cities are introducing their own cryptocurrency and China already has its own. Fiat days are over. Even then bitcoin will be number one because it would be the decentralized one with the highest value.

No, that's not possible in my opinion, at least, in the near future, because people don't trust cryptocurrency and they are not ready to start dealing with a currency that they can't touch and feel.
People always have difficulties to accept new changes. Besides, crypto have have more value and help tradors gain more to be used. That's why cryptocurrency will take a long time to make FIAT currency disappear, if such thing will even happen.

Oh, a good idea
However, in my opinion, in the near future, this will not happen, because habits, habits, taaph calculated from how many generations have always used paper money.
But I plan to spend about 50 years on electronic money replacing all the paper money

Crypto currency would seem a bit well-known, but I never believe it can substitute genuine money. Their are so many men and women belongs into poverty that are unable to even aford to buy a low-cost smartphone to start off cryptocurrency. They do not even have cash for meals. Imagine if real cash vanish. What will happen to them? They don't even know how to use technologies. That is why they want true cash for their every day residing. And 1 thing is for positive, actual cash will by no means disappear.

Nope. It was just a wild rumor. And recently, the Chinese government has done whatever it can, to stall the growth of crypto-currency in mainland China. They have banned the exchanges from BTC-CNY trade and has introduced new tougher regulations for the exchanges to operate. And I am sure that they will not think about a national crypto anytime in the next 100 years.

It's 50/50. I believe there is a chance that digital currency may be implemented in the future. With our advanced technology now and keep on developing, I see something that a new era will emerge. So I guess the ball is on Government. They are the one who can only make a law or can change our current status about currency.

Hey  Cheesy

Well I think the chances are nil.

Following are the points through which I would like to support my argument:-

1. Cryptocurrency do needs minimal knowledge, money and source of internet for implementation, as per my ppint of view the following people won't be able to afford to make use of cryptocurrency,
           1.1. Poor
1.2. People with no education till now
           1.3. small kids
           1.4. Old folks
Thus chances are very low that government will choose to Neglect this sector and implement cryptocurrency.

2. Not everywhere you can have electricity or not everywhere you can have internet connection , thus it won't be feasible in any sense.

No definitly not cryptocurrency is an apllication or an easy digital system that can be used in mobile or pc also all actions on the cryptocurrencies are covered by true money and not the digital money with no value it is paid by different gateway to pay that existance and provide some true money involved in the situation to come true thay is why true money cant replce it because it is an state money no body even goverment cant and still bitcoin is decentralized also

I've said this before but bitcoin will never make real money disappear. Technology isn't there. It's an investment for people to get a return. It isn't being used as a currency for the vast majority of people.

there are very little chances that there could be survival of people without real money. this is because still a large %age of people around the world does not even know about the cryptocurrency. even i came to know about it a few months ago. thats why i started using bitcoins. but that doesn't mean that i don't use real money or anyone trading in bitcoins does'nt. also i don't think govt would support this idea of no real money. there are some limitations to useage of bitcoins till date. but may be in coming 20 to 30 years there will be a slight chance that the people would not require real money.

To be very honest, trading in cryptocurrency has definetely high volatality but at the same time maximum of the financial institutions are backing virtual & crypto currencies due to which even they are generating additional revenue . However, coming days/months/years the boom will still remain of using crypto currencies to large extent.

That is possible if cryptocurrency doesn't prohibit by all countries in entire world, central bank and its systems are disappear too.
But, i think that will be hard because main problem that cryptocurrency encounters to become main currency is there are some countries that prohibits transactions using it.
Fiat is currency that has been in use for a long time. That is so hard to make it disappear.
In the future, i think cryptocurrency will play a role as alternative medium of exchange.

I dont think that crypto will replace fiat money it depends on the country if they will adopt crypto currency. At this point in time it is impossible will see in the coming years.

Well, times change and so my opinion will be based on what is at par with the issue at hand as of writing.

I do not think cryptocurrencies will make 'real' money disappear because the former has so much to take in (legalities wise) before it can pass like a real money that is regulated by central banks. It has to be regulated in all forms of money transactions so as to be backed up by good legislation and effective execution for the common good. Only then, by that time they make good of all their legal obligations, can it POSSIBLY make 'real' money disappear.

No. I think its highly unlikely that this will happen in the near future because of the instability of many cryptocurrencies  . So let's say that you have 1btc which is worth $1000 (assume it is $1k for this example) , if bitcoin's price goes down by 20% the next morning you wake up then now your 1btc is worth $800. I don't think that anyone wants this to happen to them so I don't believe that people will start using it as a mainstream currency , even though I would have been happy if that happens but its really unlikely unless cryptos becomes stable like Tether.
