Maybe yes and Maybe no there are times that bitcoin may fall but since we are in new technology that runs our world and bitcoins will be change our economy then bitcoin will never lose its value even if wer are going the new generation there's no such thing or any reason for the bitcoin to lose its value untill no one uses it.

As technology is upgrading there's a chance that bitcoin can lose a little bit of it's value but I don't believe that it will completely lose it's value. I have a hint, that the biggest person, CEO's of IT companies are even predicting that bitcoin can be a big blast for the next years to come. I guess they have a plan to pump bitcoin.

Yes price of bitcoin can fluctuate and it can go so down but still it will not lose its value because the future is bitcoin. As said the IT companies and firms and now some countries accepted bitcoin to be currency acceptable for business trades. So definitely it will not lose rather it will rise up the currency value.

Yes you've got it right there are good factors are affecting bitcoin's price. And the news that are coming out that big people will support bitcoin and after the SegWit price can go up easily. The price was stable today and there's no a big blow uprising and even decreasing, this is the start to see the price of bitcoin pumping.

It seems like we're in a point when btc price would stabilize for a while like what it did back when the price was around 2.3k before aug 1st. I'm thinking there's a pattern to this an perhaps after another drama like the split, we'll stabilize again at a much higher price.

Bitcoin will not completely lose its value because it will continue to improve and get some good developments and that will make the price pump and i don't think that CEO of IT companies will pump bitcoin because they are just speculating and i believe on what they think because i am comfortable that bitcoin will touch $5,000 price in the next year.

That's just a guess coming from me. Just like others said that aol has been forgotten and there's a new trend. Friendster has been forgotten because of facebook, so there's always a phasing and upgrade in terms of technology and bitcoin isn't too far from it that's why I guess the same scenario can possibly happen.

This is possible because people are working hard day and night to develop new apps, gadgets and technologies. Bitcoins definitely needed to be updated after every six months to stay in the game. With passage of time, the expectations of people from bitcoins will increase and to meet them, bitcoins need continuous improvements.

Having rich people's wealth in bitcoin does not mean it will never lose its value.  If you check the market, bitcoin keep on gaining and losing its price value.  That is what we called fluctuation or volatility of the price value of the coin.  I believe that bitcoin will lose it's value if people had found another cryptocurrency that is more advanced, more scalable and has more competetive and experienced developers.

You cant compare bitcoin to stocks because bitcoin is a currency that depends on users and stocks depends on the current assets and liabilities of the company. But I agree that bitcoin may lose its value, theoretically, if there is no demand for bitcoin therefore it may lose its value or another reason is since it is a technology, there may come a technology which is more superior than of the bitcoin. But now I dont think its possible because of altcoins is inherited from bitcoin technology

Agree. With these hard fork issues regularly happening, I am not sure how much bitcoin right now without those hampering a faster growth. Well this is it a decentralized system. Let's just ride the waves carefully.

Things don't just crash to 0 unless they are completely useless or have poor management (business wise). In the bitcoin case, there is a lot of value in it. It may not be backed by anything but these days even FIAT currencies have no backing.

Bitcoin lost %80 of its value after the GoX crash in late 2013. People panic sold their coins in despair. The price fell from over 1k$ to as low as 200$ in time. The recovery took very long time but those who hold their coins won the jackpot. Even the top buyers made at east %100 profits since then.

Can bitcoin lose its value? Yes. Only for a time.

In the long run, there will be a recovery as always.

The Solution: If you won't be able to deal with the pain of holding bitcoins for long years, only hold the amount you can afford to lose.

+1  this is a good advice and strategy if Bitcoin will really comeback in downfalls it may be double or triple the value when it arise from a 80% crash like what happened few years later.

Yes, if its demand will continuously decrease since Bitcoin's market value depends on the demand. But as what we are seeing as of this moment, Bitcoin has now a larger community than before, and also its priced increase way high than its price before. So, I think it will be wuite impossible to happen, because Butcoin is continuously growing in all aspects.

If a downfall in bitcoin is happening, it will happen over the next year, then become more stable.

We already had a contentious hardfork and that is obviously causing real problems  on th emain chain(unconfirmed up to 90,000 and very high fees right now). Once that backlog is cleared in a week or two, we have another potential Hard Fork coming up.

I fully expect price to go down in the midterm(over the next year).

There are tendencies that another cryptocurrency will rise and will be more in demand than Bitcoin. And I think ,on this way, the value of Bitcoin will crash. But I am not agree with you ere because I am sure bitcoin is going to rock the floor of the stock market and the price and the Importance of the bitcoin is growing very fast and it is increasing the users of the bitcoin and more people are using bitcoin it makes bitcoin more popular so I think bitcoin is increasing the importance and the worth but not decreasing.

Yes, bitcoins are not going to lose values easily. They can be dumped by people only under special circumstances like when people lose internet connections, when crypto currencies are out of fashion etc. but we all know this is not going to take place so bitcoins will keep ruling out hearts.

It is the case yes. Bitcoins will never fall down to zero but yes there may be a gradually decrease after making any so called drama of anything. Bitcoin have been rising so abruptly that in just a month it just crossed $4.3k and still going on. There may be small downfalls but it will not be stopping in near future to rise.

Of course that the probability of bitcoin to change its value is always 1, because the price/value of bitcoin changes every time and never is stable.

Check now and check for the past month this year and you can see how unstable the price was, if it is possible to lose its value then it has the potential to increase its value too.

There will happen some correction of the price of course but more and more big investors are investing in bitcoin and this is one of the reason of the high price that we see now.
