It's up to you. It's not required, but many supporters set DeepOnion avatar indeed!

You won't qualify until you're a junior member. That's like 50 or 60 posts, plus the activities. So it might be a few weeks before you can join. Also make sure your joining date is correct (the day you joined bitcointalk).

Excellent to hear you will be joining the forum, it is far better to get into the heart of the community and there are always people who can help if you need anything plus more rewards available.

Regarding the avatar, i saw the dev talk about this earlier you do not have to change your avatar but it does give more credence to the project and shows loyalty. This helps deeponion and shows commitment which is rewarded.

Also do not to forgot your forum ID in ALL the links of the signature, there is more than one (look for ?ref=XXX and replace XXX with your forum ID)
