It is like getting interest rates, the predicted interest rate for the first year is 10%.

The difference between staking and interest is that staking requires you to find a block, whereas interest in a bank is calculated by the amount in your account at say 'the end of the month'.

The whole concept of POS is that the block chain is secured by people having an up to date chain which means you get payment because you're supporting the block chain.. this is why they need you to find blocks instead of just allocating an interest payment.

There is a lot more to it, but that is probably the simplest.

Chainz.cryptoid.info is a paid blockexplorerer. If you give them money, they will host a blockexplorer for you. It's a commercial site (but a very good one!). We can ask either the dev or pay ourselves the fee.

Devs have chosen to host their own explorer, which is also good in my opnion. But an independant one with such reputation is maybe smart to have!.

No need. Just make sure the wallet is open, unlocked and is connected to the network. You should see the icon on the lower right of the wallet that it's staking.

Only unlock your wallet for staking, you need to allow the qt wallet through your firewall of course when it prompts you to do so otherwise it wont sync with the network.
