Hey guys I have a for this fantastic community.... For starting PoS I just simply leave my wallet open for 24H and then it automatically starts or I have to set something in the wallet? I know for many this could be obvious but it's the first time I do PoS.

Ps. What happened! It's the first time I don't see the DeepOnion Thread on the first page of the Altcoins Announcements!  

You don't have to leave the wallet open for 24 houres. It is the coin age that matters. When the inputs are mature you can start staking as soon as your wallet is synced.

Correct. And you should have some coins in there, otherwise you will not stake a lot. I managed after about 2 weeks to get 0.7 coins. And DeepOnion Thread was back right now on first page of anouncements

if your staking icon is green then you are staking, just leave it and those sweet onions will come

Staking is like a lottery, the more coins you hold the more weight you gain,

The more weight you have the more chance for staking rewards. today, i already stakes multiple times due to low network weight.

Treat it as a bonus and a game of chance, if you dont stake today you will probably stake tomorrow. if not the next day

Coins will become mature when they are in your wallet for at least 24 hours.
When they are mature they will start staking.

Coins have been in the wallet for more than 24h probably it's the wallet that has never been opened for 24h, maybe that's the reason. Another question does the wifi signal effect staking? Should I attach the ethernet cable to my pc for better staking, my ping is 3ms and download speed is 70mbps

If the Deepsend feature comes out rather quickly and we fix the connection issues for Chinese people with the wallet, the "ban" of bitcoins in China could actually promote Onions. If your client and your transaction is untracable, you can not ban it

2 Million to 5 million is Low,

111232453 this is the high network weight.

But most of the time, the dev dont stake the coins. so we small holders have the chance to get staking rewards.

at this time the weight is low for me.. enough reason to open the wallet for staking.

You just need to have coins in your wallet, and unlock your (encrypted) wallet for staking,
the rest takes care of itself.

Anything below 5 Million is low for me, above that its too high & too difficult to earn a stake. but leaving your computer ON 24/7 has more chances for stake rewards. I am using a small compact PC as a staking machine for my different stake coins. Buy one and the reward is good and cheaper compare to mining.

You need to encrypt your wallet first, never lose passphrase.
Then backup your wallet.dat file in a flash memory.
This procedure is done one time.
However if you create new wallet address, you need to backup again the wallet.dat.


If you want to stake, unlock your wallet, have a check mark on the tick box "For staking only"
Put passphrase, then you are good to go.

have just seen on nova chat that there has been created over 1000 new accounts today so thats why it runs slowly and unresponsive

May be some kind of attack taking place on Nova. 1000 new accounts seems a lot. Yes, it's slow going there. Can't trade most of the time, just stuck and can't sell or buy.

Is anybody else able to buy or sell, or are you stuck too?

Because of this strange behaviour of novaexchange, I wanted to withdraw some BTC and Altcoin from there...unfortunately the status now says "manual", which basically means I have to wait until they proceed with the withdrawal request by hand. Makes me feel a bit nervous :/ But let's see what happens

A trick that I heard people using simply to reduce fee is to sell and buy Doge to send it to another exchange and then buy back the BTC. Seems like a little too much for me, but apparently is a good enough of a strategy for many.

Since there's a lot of ban talk, they need to add more sections. It would be nice for them to add a sports section, for people to distract some people from talking about the same problems. Perhaps when it gets even bigger.
