Right now we are trying to decide what to do about the blockchain. The way I see it we have 2 options: we list on cryptopia in hopes the gained attention will attract a more stable mining base,  or we fork the coin to discourage cherry picking miners and list on cryptopia afterwards.

Just curious, how would forking discourage cherry pickers, if the coins end up on a PROP pool would not the same thing happen again ?
Would it not be possible to ask the pools to use PPLNS instead of PROP, this should stop the cherry pickers, but I guess that's of no benefit to the pool so long as they get there 2% fee.
I'm sure it will all work out well whichever route you decide to take, it's still early days yet and there are bound to be some bumps in the road.
Gonna hold onto my Soj as this project will take off; there are meeelions of people going on breaks and this service will get a nice big tranche of the market.

The way difficulty is calculated would be changed during the fork.

The way I see it is, this company should already be 10x more than what it is right now.
List on Cryptopia, it will explode in price. From there list on Bittrex.
If we have a government shut down, it could go up 💯 x, by the end of the year...

For longevity of the project I think the change to single block difficulty retarget has to happen. It just leaves it too vulnerable to getting stuck if not.

How long do you think the hard fork would take?

If you get the chain running nicely it will make the heavier trading that much easier.

Additionally there are decentralized exchanges that are becoming more accessible and popular, some that require a good working blockchain to use.

Since we directly control the web wallet, all users will be credited their account balance when the fork occurs, so no action will be necessary.  I doubt nova exchange will provide us with fork support, so we will ensure there is ample time for everyone to withdraw to their wallet of choice before we release the fork. For right now business continues as usual. We are looking at what changes need to be made to the coin and are certainly open to your suggestions.

Windows wallet holders will be able to access their coins after the fork with the new wallet by using their private keys. We will release a detailed instructional at a later date.

I recommend the windows wallet, it is always the best option during any fork. It will not happen tomorrow, you are looking at more of a week long timeframe.

just forget out about watching it confirm. each of my withrawals/deposits took a day each

It will take you 17 confirmation before you can see it in your wallet, if the network is fast it will take a couple of minutes but if its slow an hour or maybe a day. lets just wait for more development before getting listed to cyptopia.

one thing to be very carefull with is the fork... , if the SOJ would get listed as is now on Cryptopia very shortly after listing it would also be De listed just like the Bitrad.io coin is actually happening now!  if we will hard fork and coinswap before listing and get the wallet working well with no hickups . Then we should get listed at other exchanges. better safe then sorry!
the only thing i see is that doing such a movement could actually hurt the value of the coin letting it drop very hard from where it is now!
but being well prepared and very swift and RESPONSIVE to a hard fork and coin swap "PRO-ACTIVE" could turn this coin around and super charge it into the higher ranks of high value coins! unfortunately this all sits upon the dev! and that means his hands will be very full with alot of pressure and is very exhausting. to make a very successful hardfork and or swap it takes attention to detail dedication and devotion !

But no matter what happens to price, the hardfork is a must.
Otherwise in the end, the coin will not be very usable, which means that eventually the price would deflate anyway.

No coin swap needed though, just the wallet files from the current wallet to import the keys. So it should be fast and painless

i would also put up a couple of master nodes just to keep the wallets always active and updated ,without running into the issue of being several hours behind to sync daily!
