Well, on 2nd thought, since Bitmain is asking $1,870 for this Nov batch L3+, I will be ordering zero instead of the 2-3 I was considering at a reasonable 1300-1400 price point.  I might kick myself later but that's just a bit too risky for me.  Oh well, back to the drawing board lol.

Sold out in 13 minutes I heard.

I think ROI is still good.

Just by putting them on Nicehash..... 10 x L3+ averages about 800 USD$ per day*...... ROI in 24 days.

* Excludes power bill.

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...
Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Phil, have you seen this board?

Might be worth ordering one for testing. Riser-less 6GPU rigs would save you lots of components from your 3GPU rigs.

List price is CNY 1100, but the manufacturer's web shop is out of stock.

However, I found it on this website
https://s.taobao.com/search?q=D1800-BTC

Cheapest seem to be around CNY 590, which is the equivalent of $90.

Got a few boards to test.

I want to run Linux on this - anybody knows what mobo chipset is this?

Celeron powered with DDR3 memory should point to chipset before Z170 ?

Per QuintLeo's comment, it uses Intel SoC, so no chipset per se. I'm thinking a recent Linux distro would run just fine.

When do you plan to test the board?

I just got one of my China contacts last night to buy it for me.

Taobao is a Alibaba for domestic market kind of a thing, so plenty of Chinese text there unlike Aliexpress which is designed for International market.

Hope to get it in the next week or so via air - will revert soon.

Bought 3 Qty - 2 for me and 1 donating to Phil :-)

I think there are still A4 for sale or people happy to sell them because it wasn't up to par performance wise.
It wasn't as successful as the A2, and required plenty of firmware upgrades and jiggy works - it was a mess.
My group has 6 of them and its was quite a nightmare because the first few firmware was very unstable.

There is a Innosilicon A5 DASHMASTER shipping mid-Sept, but its an X11 miner.
It's a whopping 30GHs miner selling for $9999
Don't know if they have revised this price yet, because Bitmain is selling D3 X11 miner too for much lesser but at 15GHs miner but ships November.

I hear about the issues with A4's I had assumed they were resloved looks like inno reduced the MOQ quantity to 3 PCs
I might order 3 for october delivery next week to play with, I cant ever get in on the L3+ sweepstakes , sales go too fast
But i feel like I need to be in the scrypt game.

X11 feels too risky with these monster D3 and this A5 thing not counting Ibelink etc

While the concept is remarkably clever, the spacing between the pcie slots is not big enough imo. The cards will be overheating if you stack six of them.

With good fans, airflow and the correct GPUs, that spacing challenge is easily solved.

At this point, I will do almost anything to get rid the of bloody risers  Grin

My group has more than 300 x GPUs (90% with risers) and the root of all problems start with those risers.

I hear you. I imagine you are going to go for blower style GPUs. Putting one big fan behind and all airflow goes the same way.

Quote from Antminer L3+ topic
Quote
So far we have 15k units in september 1-15 7.5TH/s

10k units in September 15-30 5TH
October 1-15 another 10k units 5TH
October 15-23 another 10k units 5TH
October 23-30th another 10k units 5TH
Current Network rate is 20TH
by end of october will be 47.5TH

so profitability will go to $13 per day still ROI of 100 days not bad (as long as LTC stays at $66)

If this guy is right, is useless to buy L3+ right now because when I will receive it everything will be changed a lot. What's your opinion?
Waiting for new releases from Bitmain? Because 1870 was a lot this night for a L3+ which I will be getting after two months.

Waiting for new releases from Bitmain? Because 1870 was a lot this night for a L3+ which I will be getting after two months.

I have put all my group's Scrypt hash to Nicehash for a simple reason -- high pay rate for now, before it goes back to LTC pools - of course I still get screwed because NH charges up to 4% if I use my own BTC address (ie not their wallet).... but I am ok with that in exchange for BTC upfront.

Tons of these NH Scrypt hash are pointed to BitConnect pools..... 10GHs of Scrypt hash can mine 7-10 coins per day. If you now cash that out to BTC at Nova or Livecoin exchanges... thats 110-130$ per coin x 7 = lets say 900$ div by 20 (ie per L3+) = 45$ ... so thats 13$ vs $45

otherwise at LTC Solo pools, each solo block is worth 25 x 60 = 1500$ .... go see tbdice.org and see how this whale miner collects thousands of dollars per day with a 700GHs mining power -- as I type I see this miner has struck 19 blocks (31st Aug)... 19 blocks x 25 x 60$ = USD$28,500 !

If I provided you good and useful info or just a smile to your day, consider sending me merit points to further validate this Bitcointalk account ~ useful for future account recovery...

I like the ryZen 1800x build.

I am using 216 watts at kwatt meter.

I am doing 500 for xmr and with 1 Evga 1070 I am doing 430 for zec

This is about 1.40 usd for the CPU
This is about 2.10 Usd for the gpu

About 5 kwatt s a day at my summer price of 20 cents is 1 usd

So I am netting 2.50 usd

Hello citronick.

What sort of problems are you having with risers?
100% of my cards are using them. All of them are gtx1060s. Operating for 2 months already with no issues from risers.

following issues:
#1) connected 4 risers to 1 sata cable resulting in the connector at the modular end of the PSU melting (just me being stupid: not reading enough)
#2) one of the gtx 1060 3gb cards stopped working, upon inspection, artifacts appeared when its stress tested. replaced by store warranty.

other than that no issues on risers

While the concept is remarkably clever, the spacing between the pcie slots is not big enough imo. The cards will be overheating if you stack six of them.

With good fans, airflow and the correct GPUs, that spacing challenge is easily solved.

At this point, I will do almost anything to get rid the of bloody risers  Grin

My group has more than 300 x GPUs (90% with risers) and the root of all problems start with those risers.

Dumb question : is it possible to undervolt 1080tis ?
In my AB, voltage start at zero.
That's why I always use power limit. But I was wondering if this is ok ?

(with AMDs, I never used powerlimit, and always undervolted.)

Ever since nicehash jacked up the minimum difficulty for XMR to 80000 I find that my slower CPUs report 0 hash there most of the time.

The good risers - no problems --- the bad ones - a lot of problems.  Grin

The bad ones, I need to replace them with better risers or offload to riserless mobos.

The bad ones..... about 1.5 years old risers running 24x7x365.

Rule of thumb - 1 SATA cable powers 2 risers safely (3 is a stretch, 4 --- you asking for trouble)... each riser eats up to 60watts. No way 1 sata cable can support 60w x 4 = 240w.... it would melt!
