What's up with the wallet on dropbox?

The first message states we are on 0.8.5.4.

The splash screen says it is 0.8.5.3.

And the about screen shows v0.8.4.1-39-gd4d54f1-beta.

I appreciate that this is all volunteer effort (or I think it is) but someone needs to get the numbering of versions consistent to prevent problems.

Also, some damn rogue node on the wrong chain horked up my QT client and I sent a transaction not thinking much of it. It was saying that the current block was correct, but that the last block was much higher. I am pretty sure my transfer is stuck in limbo somewhere and I hope I can get it back.  Angry

Does the pretty GUI version actually have the proper version numbers in it?

Version numbers and release management have been mentioned before. Something has to happen before the Franko structure and network are becoming to unreliable. This also answers Pmalek's question. If issues do not get straightened the Franko will be debased.

Also nodes: of the nodes mentioned by Shtako is only the 209. pingable ....   I'm running around on one node only for a few days now. I hope it's a trustworthy one ....

At bitraise.me, there are about 20 connected peers running versions 70002 and 70003 and subversions 8.5.3, 8.5.4 and 8.5.5.

If you are mining via a pool you don't need to have your wallet running 24/7. So when mining without a wallet you are not a node in the Franko network. But with the difficulty being so low, why should one want to mine in a pool? Even with a simple graphics card one can mine one block a day, maybe more.

70003 would be the best nodes to connect too.

Also, you can mine at a pool I just setup. www.dirtydiggers.org

It will always be on the right chain because I run it personally.

How would people feel about adding stake to Franko?

Right now the current production half's every 22 years putting us at 500 years for total mint, if we add a 100% yearly stake production will half every 11 years and put us around 250 years. Which is still very fair.

As someone who has seen tons of crap instaPow/PoS coins, it would be nice to see a coin that actually had a non rushed PoW transition to PoS.

It depends on what you want to do, really, with the PoS stake.  people are seeing that 1 to even 5 percent stake annually really doesn't cut it. Most people own between 1 and 300 dollars of a cryptocurrency. If you offer 1% stake, it basically means a free coffee for most people.

Tekcoin's 40% monthly super stake is going to be crazy in the next 6-12 months. Franko seems a little more conservative....perhaps something like 10% monthly, or as you said, 100% annually. I would def. shy away from small PoS minting choices. They attract virtually no interest from outsiders.

boolsheet. i sell my frk in next day if it start. and then a year later say, let's 1 frk for block? it's not fair to those who mined and invested in when block was 0.25. if it is implemented and investors should get in their wallets dual balance.

wait, why would you sell your franko?

Adding PoS, especially a quick paying PoS, would only benefit you, right?

It would depend on how long you held it for.
