People continue to confuse what ETH is. It's not a competitor to Bitcoin.

ETH is a currency that represents processing power over the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum provides access to a blockchain for any sort of project one can think of (which is not possible on Bitcoin's blockchain). Ethereum is bringing the blockchain to businesses, governments, charities, start-ups, and fools who want to start ICOs (with no reason or purpose).

ETH will launch, but for a much different reason that Bitcoin.

I prefer BTC to stay BTC and other coins like ETH to be what they will be. Each is different with different uses.

both are incredible, bitcoin is a kings of the cryptocurrency. so that for me bitcoin is a all time 1st choose but ETH raising way is very bright .in future ETH taken more strong postion in crypto market.

Well, i'm not sure ETH can be the next bitcoin. As you can see, the price of Ethereum is really fall since the last 2-3 days, most of all altcoins are going down though. But only bitcoin that still had a good price so far. I don't know what will happen after segwit done, but i think it will become a big history for cryptocurrencies.

Actually yes there are chance to ethereum will be the next bitcoins, in my opinions for right now bitcoins hold bitcoins is good choice before bitcoin's hard fork because we will get bitcoins and bitcoins cash, but if you hold in ethereum for invest in ICOs, today is best time for buy ethereum because ethereum's price is cheap be compared couples months ago, so everything depend on the purpose to hold bitcoins or ethereum.

Bitcoin is Bitcoin it cannot be compared period. Now Eth is not Bitcoin, but it's a dam alt and alts are only promising for a while but then they are not that good. Eth has for the time being given some good returns but I don't prefer it cause it's a Alt, and for that reason I don't ever invest in it, I hate alts, cause seen lots of people invest and loose their hard earned money in it. So my suggestion is to move in for Bitcoin and not eth.

Doesn't make sense as to why ETH would moon when Bitcoin is getting an upgrade. Unless something goes wrong with the update there should be no reason for Ethereum to be taking a pump from the fork. You can even compare the two currencies, Bitcoin is up ~1.5% vs its 24hr average while ETH has slipped by ~9.3%. A lot has to go wrong for Bitcoin to collapse under the weight of a fork and have a competing crypto take off in its place.

Anyways I prefer Bitcoin for a number of reasons I have already talked about a lot of other times, and Ethereum has its own uses too. It's a shame that it doesn't have the same user size but whatever I guess, that's how it works sometimes. Could have a lot going for it under the right circumstances.

Bitcoin up and is now eth go down so I prefer bitcoin, bitcoin is still far above altcoin to mention eth will be next bitcoin then it's a bit excessive but nobody knows the future

Personally I prefer ETH rather than Bitcoin because ETH is using a very good platform and creating a lot of high potential altocin, especially ICO projects, if ETH can beat BTC in the future, The new revolution will take place

That possible if some investor and Bitcoin user( that afraid in August 1 soft fork) move their funds to the Ethereum.

in the past 2 months bitcoin has had a huge FUD wave about its split which was a big lie from the start. it only caused a 27% drop in its price and that could not even last for more than 20 hours and price jumped back up!!!
there was another FUD again that caused another dip, but this time small and that didn't last long either.
price is now back at the ATH level.

in the past 2 months while that was going on, ethereum started at 0.15BTC and has been constantly dropping down. it is getting dumped in steps. first it went down 15% in one day then stopped and recovered a small amount and then got dumped more. the dumping has been going on until today down to 0.068BTC which is more than 55% drop. in other words ethereum has lost more than half its value from top.

now you compare these two and tell me what you prefer....

If i like Eth, but it's not possible Eth will be the next bitcoin, because Btc and Eth have many differences, Btc already has experience high enough than eth, and Eth has its own function and not the competitor of Btc ,,

I still prefer bitcoin over any other alternate coins but I also like Ethereum too. But between the two, I'd have to go with Bitcoin because it is the mother of all cryptocurrencies and the fact that it is because of bitcoin why other altcoins are created they all should be grateful why bitcoin was created. It has gone through many fuds and fluctuations over the past years but it still keeps on rising ever year.

Even if people said that ETH will be the next bitcoin, it won't and I still prefer bitcoin more than it. Also, eth won't launch into the moon, after all those ICO's who have gathered some large amounts of ETH will soon begin to dump just to have a budget of their own. Also, the last eth pump IMO is manipulated and is very hyped. With this major update of bitcoin, it might make the eth hype go away.

While they may both be too big to fail, I prefer bitcoin. Ethereum has issues and contenders nipping at it's heels that pose more of a threat to it's valuation than BTC> BTCs footing is so good that were it to lose market share, it could happen in a much more predictable manner than we see with the ALTs. My opinion of course.

Eth is a coin/token and Ethereum is a platform, Bitcoin is a coin/token and Rootstock as a platform for Bitcoin which will be a norm for ICO's soon.
Any altcoins can be the next Eth but no altcoins can be Bitcoin.
Ark is already better than Eth, it is a matter of time before the mass know about it, no clogging or bloat.

Eth is the first platform for smart contracts, but it doesn't work well enough. There are Some new projects doing the same but better, but they are too young so eth is still leading. And what is the best for eth, that it is growing very fast and work with a lot of big companies like banks and some corporations making their blockchains on eth system. So they are all awesome and i hope will grow exponentially, but now i don't have eth from the time it was 350$)

if you think logically there is nothing in btc ,just because its primary cryptocurrency its price is increasing,if you compare eth and btc,eth wins in code functionality and its application.there is byteball currency which has conditional transaction as well,just because people are buying btc at op price so market is pumping.
