Honestly I never saw any technology going away in the whole history, so I see no reason why Bitcoin would go away. As long as money will exist Bitcoin will. So forever hopefully.

Why to think that long, even tomorrow is not sure with the digital currency. Only the trust is the one that keeps it alive for a longer time period. Bitcoin being the leader of the entire digital currency community expect the price to skyrocket same as this and make more people get into it taking it survive for years.

That's a long-ass time.  It's also a time frame I'm not concerned about,  since I'll be dead and buried--it'll be someone else's problem at that point.  But do I think btc will survive that long?  Probably not,  but that's just a guess.   Something better may come along,  or society might collapse.   Who knows.  I sure as hell don't.

Or it could be that 100 years from now noobs will be debating the same thing,  still trying to earn a satoshi through sig campaigns.   That'd be funny.

Everyone of us might be gone then but bitcoin survives.
I think bitcoin will survive in the future and I think it will survive even after 100 years. In addition to that, many people already see the potential of bitcoin and I think it has a good benefit in the future. I will still believe in bitcoin whatever will happen and I will support bitcoin until the end. Lastly, I think the future of bitcoin is still unpredictable.

The future of any crypto currency is unpredictable. But I still hope that bitcoin has taken its place in the financial system of the world and will not leave this place any more. I see how many countries take bitcoin, this gives hope that bitcoin will live long

If the production is limited to 21 million, the bitcoin will be the last, and after a while it will be erased from the history if it takes a bit bitch on a single rich market where a single piece can be bought.

there is no doubt that bitcoin will survive for a long time. i can see that bitcoin will survive for more than 100 years. i am sure that bitcoin users are increasing from time to time and now we can see that bitcoin price is increasing from time to time and that is because of the increasing demand of bitcoin. i thin bitcoin will continue increasing for long long time.

100 years is long period anything can happen between that time as whether mining is still profitable at that time, if not then Bitcoin will not just work as transaction are done by miners and if mining is not profitable then they won't mine and transactions would not be verified.I mostly think it would be still profitable for miners after 100 years but then who knows what will happen in 100 years

I think Bitcoin will be able to survive after 100 years. Bitcoin has a lot of potential and it is showing tremendous amount of growth which is making it more and more popular everyday. The more growth Bitcoin shows, the more it becomes popular among investors. This increase in popularity will surely help Bitcoin to survive in future

100 years? It's too much time in the field of digital technologies. I am convinced that in 30 years the technological advances to come will take us to limits that we can not even visualize today.

Therefore the technology that gave rise to bitcoin will have been largely surpassed by then and I do not believe that the bitcoin or even the current concept of money survives by then.

It's too much a time though but it can also grow with the evolving technologies through soft and hard forks do it the core we've continue with their support I'm hopeful Bitcoin will last for as long as it's being supported.

I think that no one can say what will happen in a hundred years. Perhaps the technology of calculations will change again. Bitcoin can change so much that it will already be another bitcoin with completely different capabilities and functions. But in general, bitcoin should stand, although it will change a lot.

It really depends what do you mean by "survive". BTC might still exist but it might as well be irrelevant to the general populace as something new and big might come by to replace it.
If by "survive" you mean BTC being the #1 crypto in terms of price and market cap? That might be it as well.
But we've seen BTC already being challenged by ETH at this very moment with ETH passing it in both transactions and nodes.

I dont see any other coin being able to replace bitcoin, eth had growed a lot with the smart contracts, that is a feature that can be implemented at bitcoin, soo others coins wouldnt be needed at all, just for speculation. Into 100 years the mine period should be over soo fees should replace as reward to miners, soo bitcoin will be worthing a lot more then now, and people will trade 2000 satoshis as several dollars, bitcoin use is unlimited, as long people keep trade it will remain alive.

No, and I would be disappointed if it did, thats stagnant AF. As much as I like bitcoin, there is no way it will still be here 100 years later. at least, not like this; it would be a legacy system people only used out of nostalgia. We already have better implementations of crypto in my opinion, but they simply arent as trusted as bitcoin is. primacy means something here.  look at how much progress we have made with blockchains in general. It will take a generation that grows up with the blockchain concept to foster its evolution. after that, bitcoin wont even be the coolest kid on the block anymore.

Think of it like cars. While we still have cars, many years later after their invention, no one is driving around in a Model T anymore. Bitcoin is that Model T.  Wink

It wont be eth either. sorry fanbois...
