$DGC price per coin has been going wild you buzzards know why?  Grin i'm thinking it could be because of the leap in the $LTC/Litecoin parity markets dish~~?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XhWWkpPREN4

No.  Can you people honestly not yet see the inverse correlation between 99% of all coins, but especially scrypt coins, and Bitcoin?  You really think any of this bounce is related to Litecoin?

That's absurd.

Have you not noticed that Litecoin, DigitalCoin and almost every other coin out there began going up the very hour that Bitcoin started its profit taking sell off a few days ago?

So no, it has nothing to do with Litecoin or any other coin and mark my word, as I said this nearly 2 months ago, the Bitcoin effect will swing back the other way in a few weeks and Bitcoin will run towards $300 which will mean much, much lower lows for Litecoin, DigitalCoin and 99% of all other alt coins.

Find that one coin which is positively correlated and you stand to make millions [in the coming year] on the coming Bitcoin run to $1,000+.

As for DigitalCoin, unless Baritus and his investors find and execute a plan to offset the Bitcoin effect then there is no floor for DGC [not for Litecoin] - as the Bitcoin pressure will continue, and it will only get more powerful, until there is nothing left and there are no services or goods you can offer to offset that massive downward pressure so a Plan B is absolutely necessary.

I think by having an independent market to exchange directly USD to DGC will greatly help the coin indefinitely. Market will be able to adjust accordingly
Every time a block is mined, a certain amount of BTC (called the subsidy) is created out of thin air and given to the miner. The subsidy halves every four years and will reach 0 in about 130 years.

Hi, I downloaded the dgc-qt and want to start mining. Absolutely no mining-experience Smiley Just for fun, and 'cause I think Bitcoin may be not the end of cryptocurrencie's wisdom ...

I followed the briefing, but couldn't find the digitalcoin.conf ... also I wonder why my hd-explorer shows the digitalcoinfiles with a green location ... I just started mining, while the qt downloads the blocks. Is this for waste?

Ip-Adress was that my network-information shows, right? I thin I chose it someday at a LAN-Party ... Username and password I didn't register nowhere, just chose it on my own ...

You only need cgminer to mine. The wallet is for storing what you mine, you could also use an online wallet for that.

If you find a block and if it is not orphan, you will see 20 DGC in your wallet.

One more question. The IP. I statet my IP as 127.0.0.1 in the .conf and in the cgminer -xx -xx --xx ... when I start i receive the text: No suitable long poll foud for http://127.0.0.1:7998

GPU: 0        | 6.700-6.800 kh/s-- does it mean i mine with my cpu? And will i ever reveive a reward with this rate?

What kind and how many gpus are you using? It would be a good idea to read up on some basics mining threads (for example about litecoin mining or any other scrypt coin) if you want to get into mining. Mining with just a cpu is possible, but probably no longer worth it.

Its always good to see new miners , some help for this guy friends,

When you start your qt , you have to start it in "server" mode to solo mine this is often done by adding a -server tag to the end of say the shortcut if in win via properties.

Look up how to solo mine also look up a little about difficulty.

Tell us how you go.

Cheers.

I sent 28000 coins from a client which was on the old version of digitalcoind to my current version wallet. I didn't realise the client I was sending from was on the old version  Cry.

Anyway, the coins didn't arrive in my new client wallet.

Is there any way to get these coins back??

No. That was laszlo. I was on this forum back then though and I did offer to buy laszlo the infamous pizza.  Smiley

See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=137.msg1183#msg1183

The pizza was purchased by someone else. With Bitcoins changing hands and private PM's at that time I only really give myself the permission to jest about indirectly purchasing a slice of said pizza - as per my current form sig.

As someone once said Bitcoins for pizza ? or Pizza for Bitcoins ? Its a mystery.

No one involved with crypto-currencies or this forum really owes me anything. The price is the price, right!

For various reasons, I'm one of the few early adopters who sadly didn't make it big. I'm here again to do my bit. I'm continually pursuing new ideas and concepts for crypto related projects and online privacy in general that I hope to make a reality some day soon. I'll work to earn my way up the bitcoin ladder again - its more interesting I guess.

Having the 2nd post in this thread is more of an honor for me than the whole pizza debacle - Topic: Welcome to the new Bitcoin forum!

See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5.msg188#msg188  (I do wonder exactly who was on the old Bitcoin forum  Cheesy )

Some folks had to be the first forum members and I just so happen to be one of them. How randomly I discovered Bitcoin is sometimes of question even to myself. At one time I think the way back machine's stats show me as the 4th (or something) most active contributor to this forum - mostly ramblings. However, much of the potential for bitcoin and crypto-currency that was discussed in those early days - i'm pleased to know has since been made a reality by others.

Anyway, I digress and we all contiune ...

I remain the multiple and the multiplex.  Cool

I'm no expert but here's how I see it.

If you delete the DGC blockchain and download it again while keeping your wallet intact the coins should either reappear or be resent on the correct blockchain.

I'm sure someone else will confirm this.

If you have a copy of the wallet before said transaction, you can just copy paste it in the directory of a V1 client.

Otherwise, copy your wallet.dat to a V1 client and run -rescan and/or -salvagewallet startup commands.

I got my one mining solo now...check the ports and appears the computer is listening on 7998 so i guess it is working. Only mining with my 7700 series GPU. How long do you think it will take to find a block? The hash speed is 208kh/s

My current calculations say 0.6 days
