Where are you getting your 2 month from now figure from?

block 476,280 - diff change block #

436,810  - current block as of this post

That means there is 39,470 blocks left until the diff change.

From the first post of this thread:
Block Time: 20 seconds

That means there's around 4320 blocks per day.  39,470 / 4320 = 9.1 days
I guess it's easier to believe theres some sort of conspiracy going on then to actually do the math?  Maybe I'm missing something here?

Yes, You're missing something.
20sec/block, retarget at every 1080 blocks, so difficulty changes every 6 hours, but in the last month a reality is else: 22 hours at high diff and 2 hours with low diff. So it's only ~2160 blocks/day. In my opinion We reach block 476280 in end of the first week in October.

May I ask?

This change in DIFF was something crucial - intended to stop this constant collapse in the coin's price, correct?

So why would such an urgent fix not be implemented right away?  What's the rationale here?  I've seen fixes which are coded and they effect the same day or at the latest, in a few days?  Why make it next month?  For what purpose?

It's this type of behavior which doesn't add up and gives credence to speculation, rumors and hearsay.  Why create such a hostile atmosphere unless there is a purpose for it?  For the only other option is sheer incompetence and I wouldn't dare suggest that of Minions Master.

Anyone have a plausible and logical reason for such a long delay in this so important fix?  TIA

Vlad you started out here as a reasonable guy as evidenced by your early posts

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=209508.msg3119534#msg3119534

actually praising Baritus. What happened? Is it possible to have a civil and constructive conversation without you being obnoxious and so abrasive to people?

The fix is primarily to stop the diff wildly bouncing between 1 and 5 or so and to give the average miners a chance to mine for dgc at a reasonable diff instead of just multipools having it all to themselves for a short period of time. The reason coin prices are down across the board seems to be mainly because of the high btc price and people cashing out for it in combination with multipools/autoselling and not some crazy conspiracy.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=289818.0

The block number I would say was chosen to give everyone fair time to update their dgc wallets.

Please, stop feeding the troll. The mods should just delete his posts. Enough derailing of this thread.

Back to issue: I have a question related to the price decline at Cryptsy:

Even if people buy up large amounts of digitalcoins to a higher price, the autosale drops do not adjust to the new highs
at all. Someone could buy it up to 50.000 and the next price would still be 13050 !??

He has some trollish posts, but the one related to the amount of blocks till the fix is implemented is perfectly valid.

Lol, funny, dude.  No man, I didn't get anything so I started doing what I do on the BFL site and after like 5 posts they banned me from their entire site.  So I emailed PayPal and hopefully I'll get my money back ($6,000).  Gonna go with KNC.

Oh, FYI guys.  There's some really fed up people with Baritus' power trips and antics.

Last night on Cryptsy some new guy I've never seen before, by the screen-name of "digit", said he was fed up, he was gonna PM Baritus and give him one chance to explain what the hell was going on and then if Baritus didn't cooperate he was gonna move to take this coin over.

Let me tell all you worshipers, it wouldn't even take $10,000 to get Baritus out of here with a court order.  I gave this guy my votes and coins as well and if it goes that far you guys will see just how many people have been pissed off by Baritus' arrogance.

Wake up Bari, the grim reaper is knocking and you think it's room service.

You can't believe almost anything you read in cryptsy chat.  People there have an agenda and that's why it's important to do your own research.  I don't worship baritus but he's the main reason DGC is still alive.  Look at WDC, dgc and wdc were once considered rivals and then dgc left wdc in the dust.  I disagree with the way the difficulty change is being handled but fortunately for me there's more then 1 coin to invest into.  There's so many coins out now, so many without active devs or support, dgc still at least has both of those.   If you read all of baritus's posts and read what he says in IRC, it's clear to me he's thinking long term and isn't too worried about the short term.   If DGC had enough buyers, there would be no need for any of this.

As for why the difficulty change is so far off, conspiracy aside, the general attitude around here a couple months ago was that if you're going to change your coin, give enough time in advance for people to prepare for it.  This is what I think is going on here.

Now you see why Baritus and a lot of other people have vlad on ignore.  Since he showed up here, every page is filled with his name and I'm sure all posts filled with wall of text and all BS.  Glad I don't have to read through all that.   Grin

As for taking over DGC, good luck.  This is one of the strongest and most loyal community.

The blocks until update were decided to give everyone enough time to update. Everyone needs advanced notice for a hard fork.

As for investors, it is 150 total, 50 of which is short term.

Riddle me this Baritus:

This morning I announced a 5.5 BTC buy wall which I put in to buy 40,000 DGC at 13501, which was well above the nearest bid of 13304.

Just moments after I announced my buy the price spiked to 13800, I still placed my buy wall just as I stated and waited....and waited....and waited.  Now the price is 14529.

I mean no disrespect here but I think you convince yourself of conspiracies far too easy.  I'm not saying there is or isn't any truth behind what you think, there very well could be.  But to me there's no conspiracy today, you set a huge buy wall and announced it, and people are buying.  The sell walls have been thin the last few days, there just hasn't been buy support.  I bought some today before you announced what you were doing and I bought some afterwards.  In the last couple weeks dgc has gone from 18-13-15 a few times.

In every market there's some manipulation going on, but it's unfair to call out who's doing it without any evidence.  Without any evidence or proof it's just FUD.  It's become the cool thing to do apparently to spread FUD about dgc.

For example today everyone in cryptsy was saying that the DGC difficulty adjustment was already in effect, and the upcoming one is a "fix" to that.  Apparently the conspiracy there is baritus already released a bad difficulty adjustment to drop the price of dgc so that he could buy more, and then the "fix" will make it so no one else can later.  There were several people saying this like it was fact.  But the truth is the difficulty adjustment has yet to take effect.

Every time you accuse the coin creater of some bullshit you can't prove, you just hurt the DGC community.

Thank you for the communication and clarification.  I admit, today could have easily been a fluke.  Anything is possible in this illiquid and volatile market.

And I have gotten quite a few people to average down over the past week based on DGC's value compared to just about any other coin.  I have posted buy ratings on my own threads where I stand to look foolish if I'm wrong about DGC.

Good luck!

Just another minor detail but the multipools have not been on DGC auto selling into the buy side today either. Looks like the diff went up last night and has been there all day. I would guess that has come into play as when the the MP's are not on it the price tends to move up.

No matter, DGC is a good coin and has a future in my opinion. Good time to add more.

Lmao Vlad you ever thought of going into movies?? Maybe writing a movie script or books?! Your conspiracy theorys could keep them going for years! I think you need to chill out a bit. Walk the dog? Go watch a good movie? Take a bex and lie down??  Cheesy Grin

Seriously though I highly doubt there is any conspiracy going on. All alt coin markets are pretty much down at the moment. Don't expect too much change with dgc prices I don't think until closer to the CryptoAve and when the diff update kicks in. Unless of course big buy walls appear or autosell gets the flick. I'm hoping Cryptsy does something with autosell tho, ideally get rid of it.

Still its a great time to buy in now though while prices are so dirt cheap
