Is Bitcoin really secure?

Theoretically Bitcoin is really safe, which is one of the strengths and characteristics I like at Bitcoin. You manage your Bitcoin wallet, you hold your password, your private key and only you know, no one else can steal your Bitcoin unless you reveal your password, private key mine. It's because of each other's actions, not the unsafe Bitcoin. Currently, I encourage people to use software wallets on the computer, offline wallets, avoid using online wallet online because they are vulnerable to attack and disclose information of each person.

Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family,they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer.Is Bitcoin really secure?What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins?Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market?What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?

The best thing about bitcoins is that private keys help you to have control over your coins unlike other online accounts like banking accounts and online wallets where they have a control over their system. Government banning bitcoins is a huge risk but till it's not considered illegal, you can continue to trade in the currency. No currency is blocked for illegal purposes. People money launder fiat too and bitcoins are highly abused due to their anonymity. Till you use your bitcoin wallet on a machine/device that's not vulnerable, your coins are safe. Your device should be offline (not connected to the internet) and there are ways you can do so by just scanning the QR code using an online machine and then using the cold wallet for sending/receiving coins. That way your wallet will be entirely secure.

2) You keep them in cold storage
3) You don't have viruses
4) You aren't dumb and keep your codes safe.

All these hacks usually happens in online exchanges, so i wouldn't recommend you to keep more than 0.5 bitcoin there, unless you trade often.

Ya buddy you are right. Following some basic steps make bitcoin safest among any other Altcoin. So just use some simple security system like finger print sensor. Even the password may be a alpha numeric or Your name or your fiance name even may be your mom name.Take to make the password which not found by anyone to made bitcoin safest.

If you don't keep your Bitcoin in exchange site, how to trading? To be honest this is the reason make me very confused and can't find the way improve this issue. Although I want hold my Bitcoin safest, but when I want trading need store my coin in exchange for do that.

It seems to me that in digital technologies nothing is impossible. Perhaps there are some tricks and tricks to crack the whole network or chain of blocks, But no one says anything about it. These are my guesses, maybe I'm wrong and I will not argue about it. But it seems to me that nothing is impossible. It will be necessary to find this information and cook pilaf with current specialists.

As of my knowledge bitcoin is the safest altcoin as to my knowledge. If you want to know means Just inverse your money in bitcoin and save that with the cold storage with a simple password system and sell it for huge profit. In my own experience, bitcoin is totally safe. And for those people that are posting that they were hacked and their coins was gone, the negligence is started from them. They are not aware of some sort of phishing sites and not checking the url completely so in the end their information was input to that scam site while the hacker is monitoring it and getting his/their data.

What is Bitcoin?  What does it mean to be secure?  And then how much more is really secure?

My bitcoins are spread out (by which I mean my private keys are not all kept in one place) helping make them more secure, i.e. no one breach would get all of my bitcoins.  Btw, this is inconvenient for my beneficiaries.

Bitcoin (as opposed to my bitcoins) might be breached and then we could all lose all of our bitcoins at once.  What could be the nature of this breach?  One of those nasty 51% attacks?  A flaw in SHA256, etc.

Are you pointing towards his *what at this point no one can confirm* 1 million BTC coin stash? I don't really see this as a major problem.

If he ever is going to move one of his earlier coins, or better said, on of his *assumed* earlier coins, there won't be much happening unless there are loads of these coins suddenly waking up after years and years of sleep.

Only in that scenario I believe the market will ever experience the negative impact of someone having access to that many coins. As long as these coins remain untouched, there is nothing to be afraid of.

If hackers can really hack the Bitcoin system and steal Bitcoin, why they haven't t do this until now? It only means one thing, they can't! Bitcoin system is really complicated. It is very hard to hack. As for the use of Bitcoin in the deepweb market, the government has no access to trace who use it there so they cannot arrest them. Some countries banned Bitcoin but they cannot stop the people to use it because they have no means to do so.

Bitcoin has no such safety net. If your Bitcoins are lost or stolen, there's no intermediary with the power to make you whole therefore its as safe as you make it

Bitcoin is fully secure only if you dont store your wallet passwords on your desktop, any notepad, etc.
If someone hacks you, he will need to know your private key, if he doesnt have it, he wont we able yo touch you anything, so as you see, bitcoin is secure unless you are an idiot.
