WISP is just an exit scam for JBG and his croonies. As they are no longer funded by the free XSPEC staking donations, they and WISP will disappear along with other lame excuses for not delivering on the WISP project as well. For example, just look at the shite xspec website they gave us!

I can't say you are wrong. But The time will tell us what is right. Let's wait for the final truth. Anyway, glad to see at least "Old" XSPEC will continue.

Bitcoin mining is now a specialized and very risky industry, just like gold mining. Amateur miners are unlikely to make much money, and may even lose money. Bitcoin is much more than just mining, though!

Hi,
do anybody know what "Generated but not accepted" means when Stake transaction is marked by such text? Of course I didn't get staked XSPECs. It happened twice to me so far.
I'm running the client on a computer connected by wifi, couldn't it play some role (network latency)?
I'm just not happy of this happening.

Thanks.

I 'll follow Gandalf anywhere.

Love what Spectre has to offer... once the comparisons of this privacy coin vs others become known it will surely gain steam!

It's a general phenomenon of Proof-of-Stake. See the last paragraph here: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/crypto-intro-guide/wiki/Proof-of-Stake#why-is-my-stake-conflicted-or-not-accepted

It doesn't have anything to do with your computer or network, there is nothing you can do about it. It just happens.

Spectre should take some notes from sumokoin. Painless gui install on linux, no cutouts while syncing. Extreme quality Id like to see with spectrecoin

Is it really true that this is the best stealth/anonymous coin? And what advantages does it have against zencash and monero (both of them have been said to be the best at their job)?

I'm asking because price's been really stubborn past few days, honestly, people should be aware of this by now, dev team looks good, software looks good, when will this get the attention it deserves?

You can't really say something like "the best" in this context. There are different approaches that each come with their own advantages and disadvantages. Unfortunately I am not expert enough to tell the advantages/disadvantages of the ring signature implementations used in Monero vs. here. An advantage of Spectre is that all nodes run on the Tor network, so there is some advantage in network privacy (finding out which IPs are running nodes on the network).

Hello guys, how do you think. What is coin more private and stealth: Deeponion, XSPEC or ZCASH. What is technology between these coins more modern?

Hello guys, how do you think. What is coin more private and stealth: Deeponion, XSPEC or ZCASH. What is technology between these coins more modern?

Right now Zcash is more anonymous, hands down. Zcash is based on zk-SNARKs, XSPEC uses ring signatures which are not zero knowledge but are much more efficient. Zcash is slower and requires much more space than the Spectrecoin wallet (at least 2GB of memory for Zcash). You can read more about the downsides of Zcash here: https://www.quora.com/Whats-good-and-bad-about-zcash

Spectre being less anonymous comes from the fact that the anonymity set is much smaller currently because very few people use stealth transactions. But this will hopefully change in the future.

Deeponion is just a joke lol. They haven't implemented transaction anonymity yet afaik, and the network is partially consisting of public IPs. They're an airdrop exit scheme essentially, large parts of the supply are still held by the devs. DeepOnion is like the little brother of Verge.  Cheesy  Great marketing, large community but no technology to back the hype.

yea, it's very annoying.
i'm staking since january and i got only once a stake reward which was actually accepted.
all the other times my stake rewards didn't get accepted unfortuantely.
with other proof of stake coins i get better staking results than with spectre coin.

Does anybody know where i have to put the old spectre folder on my mac if i want to migrate the chain and wallet details? I have a new mac and dont want to download the chain again. I copied the complete folder from my old one but dont have a clue what to do with it know

You have to copy the data directory: https://github.com/bitcoinx2/spectre/wiki/Overview#data-directory

The directory on the new Mac is the same as on the old Mac.

For long-term projects you gotta find a strong development team at first thing, they need to deliver what they promise in time and keeping update. If this happens, price will increase eventually.

When upgrading wallets, do you create a backup; delete the old wallet version and then import the .dat file into the new wallet after upgrading?
