People are still very much dependent on physical money right now. So, I think it won't happen within at least 5 years.

It's possible but not now it takes long time. To use digital currency it need internet, for developed country that may not be a problem but in third world countries are many people who have not got internet facility even has no signal. So digital currency is ready to replace paper money if all people in the world have got internet facility and get to know about digital currency or cryptocurrency.

Digital currency can never replace Paper money.
In the real world, its not easy to buy physical things  with digital currency.
it can replace paper money on the internet where it was born but not in our real world.
it already did what are credit or debit cards, not fully replaced it but it did, don't be ignorant about that fact think about btc as new banking system who is in development.

Personally I say yes as our society becomes increasingly dependent upon technology, digital currency will become a more popular means of paying for different things and it is more effective and instant. I haven't used much physical money in the past 8 years and I rarely had any problems with that.

What do you guys think? Wink

i think paper money will replace by banks and virtual cards  then digital currency will replace banks

yes paper money will disappear in future
No, paper money will still need to exist in some way or form besides all the economy is based on paper money, central banks print money and then banks create banking money, that is the money you see in your account, without paper money that process will need to change.

Due to the development of technology nowadays, it is not impossible that paper money will soon be replaced by digital currency. As people always seek easier ways to do something to save time and energy, there will always be a chance to this kind of replacement. These days, more and more people are doing transactions through mobile payment. Not only because it is easier but also faster. But,  there are still old-fashioned people who preferred paper money over any kind of digital currency. So this replacement may take time to happen.
It is hard but not impossible soon bitcoin will be recognized and recommended by a lot for more countries and they will use bitcoin to make the economy of country better and safe, if people of a country will invest in bitcoin they will know bitcoin importance and value. It is up to government that how much popular they want to make bitcoin if they want to make it legal they can and if not then not but bitcoin is getting importance because of highly used and invested currency.

I have a similar opinion...it is impossible to have an economy without one of the main levers of influence - paper money...theoretically, it can change, but after hundreds of years

In my own point of view and based on the performance of the company of bitcoin in the public market,
there is a chance that they can replace the fiat or the real paper money of each countries in the whole world. If they become consistent on what are they doing all things they afford to claim it.

I think that's possible.  digital currency is an extremely convenient and anonymous method of payment. But there are also certain risks. You need to secure your account carefully

The technology is not the problem, the problem is the accessibility to that technology, the middle class will have no problem getting rid of cash but what about those that are poor, they do not have the money to afford a mobile phone and use bitcoin or paypal.

Therefore I do not think bitcoin will ever replace paper money at any time because paper money has a physical form that makes it easy for everyone to use it as a transaction tool while bitcoin is a digital currency that has no physical but bitcoin is only more practical than paper money which takes up much space to store it.

In my opinion, the process of replacing paper money has started some time ago. It is because many people use cashless transactions (cheques, debit and credit cards). However, not every person is capable of understanding Bitcoin but also not every person knows how economy and banks work, right? Bitcoin will be great if we introduce Lightning Network without any problems.

In my own opinion isn't it cause paper money is an ancient  usage as to cover everything that we can buy. That why digital currency will not replace paper money ever.

I personally disagree if digital currency will replace paper money. Because not all of us can access the internet. Many in the marginalized sector dont know what is digital currency.

Did the OP mean to ask "Do you think cryptocurrency will ever replace fiat?". Digital currency (ACH transfers, credit cards, debit cards, etc...) has already replaced paper and coin for most use cases.

Yes I'm sure, everything relating to databases and servers will replace traditional systems like paper money, as we know that almost every country is more concerned with non-cash transactions that make cash use slump dramatically.

yeah, we are living now in the digital era where everything comes to digital and every moment a thing has been invented another thing has been making to improve the other else, so i think digital money is the future money but paper money will never be extinct.
