Yeah we are very excited with Sapling update and we plan to get VoteCoin in sync with upstream zcash core as soon as possible, so VoteCoin could benefit from the same technology. -Tom

On Linux GUI version has been updated easily, unpacked the archive and ran the wallet, without changing anything in the folder .votecoin. Everything works. And now conveniently we can see the version of the build. Thank you!

but how did it break? I have an old console crochet updated just by downloading a new one and throwing it there. I checked sending a small amount, all the fire. Graphic kosh with the same macar updated, looks working, but did not send anything yet) and then they wrote that some bug fixed related to sending and voting, hell knows how they fixed it)

Ive updated windows wallets on two machines and both went fine. Note wallet will download proving keys again presumably due to sapling privacy reinforcements.

When I migrated from VoteCoin GUI v.1.1.2 to v.2.0.0 I just moved VoteCoin folder (path: ~\resources\app\VoteCoin) to the new one. This folder contains wallet.dat and blockchain. Also recommended to backup private keys to the separate drive

Digital signatures provide part of the solution, but the main benefits are lost if a trusted third party is still required to prevent double-spending. We propose a solution to the double-spending problem using a peer-to-peer network. The network timestamps transactions by hashing them into an ongoing chain of hash-based proof-of-work, forming a record that cannot be changed without redoing the proof-of-work. The longest chain not only serves as proof of the sequence of events witnessed, but proof that it came from the largest pool of CPU power. As long as a majority of CPU power is controlled by nodes that are not cooperating to attack the network, they'll generate the longest chain and outpace attackers. The network itself requires minimal structure. Messages are broadcast on a best effort basis, and nodes can leave and rejoin the network at will, accepting the longest proof-of-work chain as proof of what happened while they were gone.

Does this error appear when you use "clear installation" ? Would it appear if you start VoteCoin wallet v.2.0.0 from new folder without moving any old files and waiting full network sync?

I have not found how to secure my wallet with a password.
If this is not enabled yet, what would be the reasoning for not having the walled secured with encryption?
I like this coin and it's mission and was just wondering if I'm missing something.

I think it possible by using CLI votecoind like in older versions of VOT wallet. But the presence of console tool in GUI wallet is highly recommended. It's usable tool for sending VOTs to several recipients for example

will the devs have an option for a debit card? Maybe with time but probably not in the beginning I think. Anyway, let's see how the people will react when the idea goes live. But adding a debit card could speed up the process.
