Hey everyone - one of the key ideas that OPEN has been talking about since the very beginning of our project is the upcoming mainstream adoption of cryptocurrencies.
In fact, today we published an article analyzing whether we're fast approaching a tipping point. One thing to consider is that as the blockchain permeates the way people and companies do business, they don't necessarily have to have a deep understanding of the underlying mechanics of the technology.
Platforms like OPEN will make it easier for developers (and people in general) to utilize cryptocurrencies without the need to become "experts".
Check out our Medium post and let us know what you think!

Interesting article. Crypto is definitely going to shake the market and make a huge impact on the way we interact with one another!

I totally agree. Mainstream adoption can only occur when there isn't a prerequisite for people to have deep technical knowledge of how the blockchain works. Great article!

Hello everyone,

This will be my first ICO. Just have a couple of questions:

1. How do I participate in it? (Please provide a detailed answer since I'm completely new to ICO's)
2. When is the ICO starting?
3. When is the pre-sale starting?
4. Why are there two different websites? ( https://www.openmoney.digital/ and https://www.openfuture.io/)

Anything else I need to know?

Thank you very much for taking the time out to reply. Really appreciated.

Hey Prasen,

It's great to have you on board! Thanks for your support.

1. We'll be giving everyone detailed instructions on how to participate in our ICO once it's launched. Keep an eye out for the instructions on our Slack (go.openmoney.digital/bslack), Telegram (go.openmoney.digital/rexo), and/or BitcoinTalk ANN channels.
2. We currently don't have a solid ICO start date because our team is still making preparations and working on the technology stack. Roughly speaking, we're aiming for a Jan/Feb start date.
3. We currently don't have a solid pre-sale date but we will announce it on our channels, so stay tuned!
4. Ignore the old 'https://www.openmoney.digital/' website. Our most up-to-date website is: https://www.openfuture.io/.

If you haven't already, check out our Bounty Contest (80K participants and counting!): http://bountycontest.openmoney.digital/2043 - lots of ways to earn Smiley

Hey everyone, are you stoked about OPEN? You should be! Today we'd like to share with you some stats that show just how awesome a community we've built together over the last few months.

We've collected 80 thousand emails, have over 40 thousand active participants in our bounty program, have 5,357 followers on Facebook and 12,200 on Twitter! And just check the Telegram stats - over 5,000 and growing!!!

Wow! Amazing! And I am proud to be a part of that heavyweight statistics. Ever since I started promoting OpenMoney I already realized of its immense potential as that bridge towards the adoption of cryptocurrency by the mainstream population. I am aware of the kind of leadership within OpenMoney and how these leaders have the vision of where the whole project is going. Here there is nothing that is rush as everything is well-thought of and they are not letting any stone not turned in making the dreams come true not just for them but for the whole cryptocurrency industry. Nothing can be clearer and more beautiful than that! All of this excitement and buzz while we still have to officially open the door for the ICO...can anybody here guess how fast will the cakes be selling once the store is open?

You allow payments from VISA?

As far as I know, Open Money is a decentralized platform that allows applications and game developers to monetize their apps via the OPEN token. So I don't see any connection between Open Money and Visa. Someone should correct me If I'm wrong.

The OPEN ecosystem is primarily working for the cryptocurrency market but it does not mean that it will not also be building a bridge between cryptocurrency and the traditional method of payments we have around (am talking about Visa, Mastercard and even PayPal and the likes). We should be hoping that this can be taken up or if not directly then maybe OPEN can have a partnership with a good provided to deal with this side of the business. I am so sure that this can be part of their overall and long-term planning because the overarching goal of OpenMoney is mainstream adoption.
“am talking about Visa, Mastercard and even PayPal and the likes”If you can do that, that's great, and OPEN MONEY will get more crowds

Hey everyone, today we'd like to ask your opinion on a piece of news. Did you hear that Belarus is considering ICOs, cryptocurrencies and making them tax free? Here's a post we wrote about it: https://medium.com/@theOPENPlatform/belarus-looks-to-legalize-icos-cryptocurrencies-make-them-tax-free-af257896d52c
What do you think? Is it a smart move? Should bigger nations do the same? What are the pros and cons?

This is a good move on the part of Belarus. Certainly, this country wants to corner a big chunk of new investments born out of the cryptocurrency industry.  While other countries are showing some fear of cryptocurrency because it is something they can't totally control of, Belarus is choosing to take advantage of the opportunities around the horizon and just downplay the possible threats. Will other countries be the doing the same? I hope so but I don't think it will happen soon. Belarus can now be the knight in shining armor for cryptocurrency and years from now this country will be proud and happy to make this pioneering move.

Interesting article OPEN. This raises a lot of thought regarding the ICO space and what is required for one to be considered an ICO. Thanks for also opening my eyes to securities and how I should pay more attention to them as ICO and securities are two different entities.

Thank you for making the distinction between what classifies as a security and what doesn't. There's a lot of confusion surrounding this topic and I'm glad that OPEN is able to elucidate it for us.

Distinguishing between what constitute as security and legally compliant token utility can be so important especially for a project which is based in USA where the SEC is now actively evaluating and looking for possible violators. E have to remember that the SEC in this side of the world can be so powerful as they can just close any program anytime by just merely calling the project proponents and order for any entity to refund the participants of their money.

This is one reason why we should be glad that OpenMoney is really taking the time and do all they can so that they can't be categorized as issuing security but tokens according to the two tests talked about in that medium article. Since ICO is still a new type of a platform there will always be confusion as to many definitions related to legalities and I am hoping that soon a clearly defined regulatory framework can be established to deal with this issue once and for all.

Hey everyone, one of the coolest features that the OPEN token brings to the table is the Developer Growth Pool. This is a continuously maintained pool of token used to incentivize the adoption and utilization of the OPEN platform. We take a tiny 3% gas fee on all crypto transactions processed through OPEN and use it to purchase OPEN on the market. These tokens are then utilized as incentives for developers and new users to get on board! Not only does it provide longterm stability for the project, but it makes the your tokens more valuable. What do you think? Cool right?
