How about https://wallet.crypto-bridge.org/ ?

Cost of adding new coin was 0.5 BTC, but they also add for free, it may take a while though.

Take a look at

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=602292.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=636017.0
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=598542.0

You could use the xpmclient to mine to the https://dtc.graymines.net/ pool

Solo mining is a bit more tricky - if you do solo mining, just remember to add host=127.0.0.1 to your datacoin.conf file in order for the xpmclient to find your local server.

One GeForce GTX 1060 6GB card should yield approximately 45 blocks per day or roughly anything between 350 - 450 DTC per day -> $150/month.

Anyway, post your results here when you are done.

Etherdelta is trading with tokens and since Datacoin is no a token, it must be some other project not related to ours.

I know it's not the card you are mining, but here's a tutorial for mining on an AMD 290 or a 7950.
It may be similar process ...
http://datacoininfo.org/mining.html
(be sure to try different versions of the miner to see what is best, the best for the 290 is 9.4.1, best for the 7950 is 8.2)

Anyway, post your results here when you are done.

Using that tutorial, here's what I got so far:

Device         Machine    xpm miner version #     CPD/day
AMD RX 580   Win 10            10.x                    ~crap :/
AMD 290        Win 7             9.4.1                   ~185
AMD 7950      Win 7              8.2                     ~115

We need more experimentation my fellow Datacoin miners!

Mine your own Datacoin, then etch the data you want on the Datacoin blockchain using Apertus Smiley
Etch your selfie! Etch your cat! Tongue Cheesy (seriously, own it)
or trade your Datacoin at BTCPOP if you want Cheesy

No matter what you do with it -- we need you, the miners, to protect & secure the Datacoin blockchain <3

Datacoin listing on The FreiExchange  (www.freiexchange.com)

The FreiExchange has decided to list Datacoin, and is syncing the blockchain at the moment.  This is extremely happy news, because they have an API for CoinMarketCap, and their other coins are updated on that API.
Once trading the Datacoin listing on CoinMarketCap will be reactivated.

BUT we do have serious delays with the syncing.  We have been going for days now, even longer than downloading the Bitcoin chain (which is more than 180GB compared to ~3GB for Datacoin).

The admins at the FreiExchange are asking for help.  What could be delaying the syncing?  It is taking days to sync 100 000 blocks.  Currently we are stuck at 2160000 blocks (out of 2250000):

{
    "version" : "v0.8.6.0-dirty",
    "protocolversion" : 70001,
    "walletversion" : 60000,
    "balance" : 0.00000000,
    "blocks" : 2163822,
    "moneysupply" : 28659671.32783475,
    "timeoffset" : -2,
    "connections" : 8,
    "proxy" : "",
    "testnet" : false,
    "keypoololdest" : 1516730018,
    "keypoolsize" : 101,
    "paytxfee" : 0.00000000,
    "errors" : ""
}

This morning Datacoin actually went live on the Freiexchange, but had to be removed again when it was realised that it was still syncing.  The admin at the Freiexchange is @feddern on Telegram.

Thank you

They connected to me at my static IP, but that seemed to make no difference.  My upload speed is 25MBps.

The exchange CPU runs flat out at 100%, with steady 4GB memory usage.  They have been trying to force more cores onto the daemon, but I am not sure how far they got.

I'll fill in the missing Smiley

Yeah, we tried direct connection, also adjusted -par values and added a large -dbcache. Somehow on cpu usage it's only using one of the cores on xeon (out of Cool at 100%
Memory usage is steady at 4gb, there is 6gb available for datacoin.
This server runs only datacoind and no other processes. Steady 2-3kb network traffic that bounces to zero on each block. (we run all blade servers, so for datacoin i slided in a new blade just for this purpose)

Progess so far now showing that we are getting there, but awful slow ... Smiley

This looks like the problem:

@feddern, [27.01.18 23:50]
ok, the reason it's slowing down sometimes is that there is a huge amount of orphan blocks that it needs to check

@feddern, [27.01.18 23:51]
so it uses a lot of time on checking and processing those orphan blocks

@feddern, [27.01.18 23:51]
so a clean bootstrap that is up to 2.2 mill etc would be good to have

@feddern, [27.01.18 23:52]
because when orphans are not there, it goes "preatty" ok

Datacoin 0.8.6

Just a reminder to all users/miners etc that Datacoin 0.8.6 is available for downloading and testing.
You can get it here: https://github.com/CoiningPress/datacoin/releases

No issues have been reported, and I would like to believe that Datacoin version 0.8.6 is stable and should be moved to production status.
That will happen after a discussion between the developers.  Hopefully we will then be able to commence work on Datacoin 0.9.0.

Hi Team!

I love all the progress I am seeing!

Two things so far about the wallet:

1.
A bug I may have found is that I was unable to encrypt the wallet using a password?
Can someone confirm this?
Warning: backup your .dat file BEFORE you test this.
Then, try to send some Datacoin using your password.

2.
Also, the wallet has another known bug, wallets from that era cannot handle many transactions over time.
As a miner, I get many transactions a day from mining, something that is commonly called "dust."
Due to this, my wallet can no longer do transactions over about 7000 DTC - it gives me an error -- I believe it's a coin control problem.
I also believe the 0.10.x versions have overcome this?

Thank you for all your work!

Kind Regards,
DatacoinMiner
