Is it possible to sync completely from block 1 without downloading a copy of the chain from google drive?

Just to clarify, I am able to sync the chain if I download the google drive link.

But things like this need to be fixed if the coin should do well  Roll Eyes

This is truth. I like this coin but getting the Mac wallet to sync has been nothing but an exercise in frustration. Took days to get 1/4 complete and then got stuck. Downloaded the blockchain and was able to get to 99%, but now it is stuck two days behind.

It seems this coin has potential (love the name and the speed of transactions), but without an active dev team and community I don't see it going anywhere soon.

I dont know how to build from here   https://github.com/fastcoinproject/fastcoin

I was able to download the entire block chain from block 1, but I downloaded the wallet about a month ago on one of my computers. On a second computer the other night I was having the same issue as some of the other people have posted recently and had to reinstall, after downloading the blockchain from the separate file.  Once I did that the wallet synced up within 30 min. or so though.

ha ya! I'm a noob to all this. Jumped in about 2 months ago. Should I make one of these? And if so, is there a step by step online to do so? I've been rolling off the cuff on on this subject. Got lucky and found fast right off the bat. Was the first alt coin I bought!

midnightrun, I have Fastcoin-Qt running on Macs, and they sync as they should.

Make sure you use version 10. Version 8 worked when I re-installed it, but then wouldn't sync the next time I started it. Using version 10 and setting it up with the downloaded blockchain worked without issues.

At times I need to  reboot for the sync to work, this  only occurs  at times when I have not  had a reboot for a while.

That's why I left them on Livecoin.net. I keep hearing of transactions getting stuck or people losing coins on Cryptopia

But the problem doesn't come from Cryptopia, I mean, it's a problem at the level of the blockchain, isn't it ?
Will I ever see my coins coming back after some checks will be done ?

The target was Cryptopia; the source was... Pc client/wallet or Livecoin?
How many FST into the transaction?

Anyway, You should open a thread here, registration free.

because this btcointalk becomes a mess.

Thanks for your reply fxj. I'm still having issues and I don't have any issues with any other wallets for other cryptos. I guess my main point is here that for this coin to be adopted, these wallet and blockchain issues need to be worked out.

Does anyone have the Android client up and running? I've installed it, but it won't connect to peers. I also tried adding peers manually (I used the active peer ip addresses from an FST client running on a PC), but still no connection to the FST network on the Android device.

Is the node you synced successfully from block 1 with still running?

Take it with a grain of salt, but while you're almost hitting the sell button, just think 10 seconds to this:
- how about this amount$? will it change my life?
- back in the days, how about the guys who sold BTC @0.2$, after a 100% from 0.1$? LOL

The run to 1$ has just begun, if you can scroll down the coins' rankings.... look at the MCAPs of the first 15-60 and see their intrinsec value.
The run to 1$ has just begun.
Go Cheetax, and don't look back.

Does anyone still have access to the original code and can possibly modify/fork/improve Fastcoin or is it only speculative and without technical updates? The block time of 12 seconds is an advantage yes, but it takes a lot of precautions to make it really usable. This being said well played to those who fill their pockets Smiley

@MisterMerci, you are asking the right questions and I think you have come to the right conclusion. There are a lot of "usable" coins, but that doesn't make them good coins. There are plenty of reasons for concern and "to the moon" and "Fastcoin has been useable for over 4 years" aren't the answers.

Where were all of you with your knowledge when it was flat for 2 years (2015-2016)? Classic: Detractors show up only when price spikes.
Reality is that facts are starting to flow in:
- new website (after 3 years of quiet)
- 2 exchangers and one more by weeks now (there has been a period with only 1 exchanger, and I think to remember zero exchangers in 2015 for some months)
- growing interest on the forum and here
- DevTeam is alive - a major event is supposed to happen Aug 1st

Oh, and no skandals for one of the  few "survival" to the 1st wave of cryptos, now 4.5 year old..... unless you consider skandal some few stuck transactions, which happens for every crypto, BTC included.
