Hello.

Quote
Cryptopia and Livecoin, both of which might be using 0.8.7.2 software, need to -rescan or perhaps turn off and turn back on again their fastcoin clients/daemons.  This should wipe their mempools of this unconfirmed transaction.  They might need to adjust their database system to remove records that the transaction was sent or do something to return the balance back to the customer.

Livecoin don't need to rescan because them didn't sent this invalid transaction. Only Cryptopia need to do that.

About this transaction.

http://fst.blockexp.info/tx/7bc9e159868a057cb5cd3cdfddcf78bf76aeb4b41450d24c9db8831c076bac51

1. Time not correct. 31st Dec 1969 18:00:00 LOL
2. Confirmations. We see that this transaction have 10475685 confirmations but this coin mined only 10475692 blocks.. So this transaction sent 3 year old?
3. Block, what block number of this transaction? Where Block Hash?[/b]

Quote
Please note, there is NO FST scam occurring here.  What seems to be the problem is what was mentioned above.  These types of problems are also indicative to Bitcoin and many Cryptocurrencies.  We have a case open with Livecoin on this and are waiting for them to get back to us with additional information.  Sending and receiving from Cryptopia to our personal FST wallets continue without issue.

Dev.. What you want from livecoin? This exchange can't receive invalid transaction without valid txid.. Where is working block explorer that don't lie? How i see the problem not with livecoin.

The problem with you (devs) or sender (cryptopia). So if you or cryptopia don't have problems, please send me VALID txid for this transaction with link to correct working block explorer. I will check this txid in my node and block explorer.

Thanks.

Thank you Yaremi,

Please note we have also reached out to Cryptopia on this issue and are awaiting their reply.

Once we receive VALID txid's from them on this issue we would be happy to share them with you.

Best

Hello all FastCoin community members and Cryptocurrency fans,

I wanted to take the time to thank Livecoin and Cryptopia for working with our Development team on this most recent issue.

We do want to inform the community that our investigation is ongoing and we are still waiting for some additional data back from Cryptopia on this matter.  It is recognized that the users directly involved with this issue may have experienced unnecessary inconvenience.  Its important to point out that we have outlined in the past our recommended best practices to holders of FastCoin and Crypto's in general in that the best way to hold your Cryptocurrency is within your own personal wallet.  Exchanges certainly do serve a purpose, however without a properly regulated framework this case in point, clearly points out some of the challenges that exists in this space as we work to resolve the reported issue.  Without going into further detail, we continue to encourage best practices moving forward and users wishing to purchase FastCoin and withdraw their coins can continue to do so from Cryptopia without issue.

If you have any further questions or concerns of what our position is with respects to "Best Practices" and how to hold your coins, please feel free to email us at info@fastcoin.ca.

Our team has been working diligently on additional upgrades and enhancements to FastCoin, with that, we would ask any community members that are currently hosting mining pools and either have supported or continue to support mining of FastCoin to please forward us their mining pool details.  We would like to make this information available to all community members moving forward with an up to date list of available FastCoin miners.  Also, with the potential upcoming changes to FastCoin we may require some changes to take place on the mining side of the equation and before we release this information we want to make sure FastCoin mining pool operators have all of the latest information available to them before we make our release public.

Again, all mining pool operators, please email us at info@fastcoin.ca and in your email please give us the name of your mining pool, URL address etc as well as what standard you are currently mining on, IE 8.7.2 or 10.2.2 etc.

Thank you all again for your continued support as we look forward for a very exciting year ahead.

Sincerely

/C

2devteam. Important. Please, respond to:

Hello.
We have non-valid transaction which was send from Cryptopia Exchange
http://fst.blockexp.info/address/fqAyvky5ZHuRBr5MZrWMzxGgHR4LwKNowL

This transaction was send on 31st Dec 1969 18:00:00 date and it doesn't
have any block hash. It seems that FST blockchain is broken. So, we
closed deposit/withdrawal and waiting for your response.

If a pool mined on the wrong fork then those coins are effectively lost. The blocks on the wrong fork will be orphans when compared to the main/preferred chain. You cannot send coins across two different chains.

In April of 2016, the block reward for Fastcoin was about 8.  Your transaction would have 1,250 inputs and perhaps less depending what was in the pools wallet.  Most likely these transactions were too large in size (KB) and were never mined into any blocks.  We have seen this problem several times before.  When I had this problem, I had to do a restart my Fastcoin client with -zapwallettxes which took 4 days to reprocess the blockchain.  This is what fst.thecoin.pw will need to do (but this may cause them other problems and they won't want to do it).  After restarting my client, I was table to retrieve my Fastcoins to send them again to Cryptopia in smaller amounts (5000 FST or 2000 FST or 500 FST).  I had to repeat the restart process several times.

Fastcoin has a problem that Bitcoin doesn't have.  The Block rewards are rather small in terms of local currency.  Basically at this point, the miners are mining dust.  And sending dust requires a lot of space on the blockchain.  In my experience, a transaction should be less than 10KB to be safe to be confirmed.  Unfortunately, the big pools and exchanges don't know about that so they sometimes make transactions that will never be confirmed.  This 10KB limit in size requires many transactions to be sent.  Good Luck!

If the coins were mined on the wrong fork, then that would be another reason why the transactions never confirmed.

Stouse, I read again and again your posts and they look impressive... apart that I can't understand what you said Grin
I'm not kidding you, fact is that I'm not so deep into this tech stuff, I merely know 2-3 base concepts about cryptos.
As you are here, I guess you have still some interest into this coin... you should really send 2 mails to both Livecoin and cryptopia.
Cheers

Hello! I some time ago extracted this coin and sent to the stock exchange cryptopia but only 8 coins for the whole day of work came to the stock exchange and I found a lot of blocks for it ((As I understood from your posts there is a problem with the confirmation of blocks means at the moment is not the right time to extract a coin or you can get it only on a purse and not send it to the stock exchange? Explain to me what I can do

Today, block rewards are 2 Fastcoins.  To be safe, with a 10KB transaction size limit, you should send less than 110 Fastcoins at a time.

The coin mining reward amount is the real killer and wasn't well thought out when it was created.  It was far too high in the beginning causing miners to dump it.  Now it's far too low to be profitable to mine. Leaving it dead with only people mining at a loss.  So sad to see this coin badly designed and implemented the idea had great potential.  Now it's just a newbie trap and all the Dev seems to do is bad memes.  It's not the fastest or longest blockchain so what does it do better then others?  If you are thinking about this coin run!  It looks good at first pass but the more you dig the more it disappoints.

Hello Wassopotamia,

Thank you for your post, please note we also sent you a PM on this issue with additional details, please let us know if you got it okay.  For the benefit of all community members we would like to make a comment about the above.  One of the primary reasons cryptocurrencies like ours requires Confirmations is to validate the transaction to the master block.  If you have no confirmations, chances are the transaction in question are dealing with orphaned entries.

Please also note that orphaned entries are not an exclusive phenomena to FastCoin and do occur in other Cryptocoin's as well.  A more detailed description of this phenomena can be found here...

https://blockchain.info/orphaned-blocks

Also for anyone wanting to get an update on the current Livecoin issue, please login to our SLACK channel here...

Thank you all again for your attention.

The $5 per transaction (for 110 FST) is for mined coins (2 per block).  If you are mining with p2pool pools, then you are basically mining dust and your max transaction value will be smaller (such as 25 FST).  Larger quantities of coins can be moved around.  For instance, if someone sends you 10,000 sucessfully, you can easily send that 10,000 or any part thereof without any problems.

I have acquired a fastcoin wallet from Cryptsy through a third party which acquired it through an auction.  I would like to know what this community would have me do with it.

Shall the fastcoins be donated to a particular address to disperse it out fairly?  Shall they be destroyed?

At this point, I don't know how many coins are in the wallet as I am currently syncing the blockchain (block 3 million of 9 million).  It may be several days before I have an answer.
Thank you Stouse49 for bringing this up,

Sorry for the very late response, not sure if you made any progress with the wallets from Cryptsy?  If you did, please inform our community on the SLACK channel as we can have a vote on what to do with the extra FST.  Personally it would be great to have them donated to the FST donations wallet as we tend to use those funds to help get FST enlisted on other exchanges or to further marketing efforts.

Fastcoin is showing the early signs that bitcoin displayed before going on to be worth $300 a piece, I have some Fastcoin and looking to hold long term, think fastcoin has great potential, depends which investors decide to put their money in it, even at a low BTC value, if BTC reaches $3000 at the end of 2017 think fastcoin will attract investors.
Thank you VanityWallets2015,

We appreciate your analysis.

Probably because you see it from coinmarketcap website... their explorer is unaccurate at the best, they're accounting most/all orphans too.
Richlist, unaccurate too.
Though, By days/week we'll see our new wholly-owned Explorer (that's what I've been told).
165Mils is the cap.... now it's probably 130-150 Mils minted.

Dear clients, deposits/withdrawals will be available soon. You don't have to worry, all of your FST funds are in safe. The root of issue with FST lays in scam transaction which was send from Cryptopia to Livecoin. This transaction have positive confirmations and no block hash, what is impossible. That is why we decided that FST blockchain have some issues, but later on the developers explained us that block explorer used as official on Coinmarketcap is not an official one and displays a lot of incorrect data.

So, we're waiting a link to official block explorer. We also waiting when the developers will contact Cryptopia regarding this scam transaction and let us know how Cryptopia managed to send this transaction into FST network.
Hello LiveCoin,

Please note we have sent you several emails on this matter, with links to a reliable FastCoin (FST) Block Explorer as well.  We have also confirmed that our Block Chain does not have issues, and rather the problem at hand has to do with a bogus transaction that was attempted which was never confirmed into our Block Chain.

We have performed further research into this mater and have found that these types of bogus transactions, although rare, have also occurred on the Bitcoin network.  The following video describes this type of phenomenon in more detail.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=llbMgF4fgrg

More info on this from Bitcointalk forum here...
https://bitcoinforum.com/bitcoin-discussion/bittx-generator-send-fake-transactions-of-any-amount-(open-source-project)/

It appears that these types of transactions maybe attempted and if not properly checked could confuse end users of thinking they received funds, when in actual fact that have not.

Please let us know what other information you require from us, as we believe we have put this matter behind us.

Thank you in advance as we look forward to your reply and reinstatement of our coin withdrawals on your Exchange ASAP.
