Everytime I go to open my FST-qt it says it failed to read the block and closes. What is wrong?

Edit: I believe I fixed it. Will report back

Hello Markm,

Thanks for your post, we were not sure about GeistGeld?  Any chance you would be able to provide us a link to their thread, it sounds interesting.

That was a concept for a new SHA-256 coin with fast block generation. It's nothing like Fastcoin.

"Geistgeld is intended to investigate two things: maximum sustainable block generation rate and behavior of a currency with fixed production rate and no upper limit on production ("halving" behavior removed in previous commit). Yes, GeistGeld is quite risky."

Advantages:

Deepest blockchain
Faster confirmation rate than any other coin

Disadvantages:

None

Honestly this is for now the only coin that i can see as a credible alternative to cash for doing payments bcs with bitcoin you would have to wait for half an hour at least before te transaction is being confirmed, Fastcoin only a minute, which is about as much as a visa

Quark is 30 seconds, so is Zeta. You can't only promote your coin stating that it's the fastest of them all, that's not enough for the upcoming cryptocurrencies and investors and that's why im out.

And Quark was premined... Fast is a good coin, fair, and having a fast block completion and the good hash algorithm; A hash algorithm that can't be implemented efficiently on an ASIC... with all the consequences that we see on the SHA256, a specialized hardware that can't do anything else, and that is highly concentrated, and running on a few pools that have much of the hashrate power...

Thank you for your post Robert,

Please note that we have many plans for FastCoin in the weeks and months ahead with respects to promotion and practical application in the real world beyond just the speed.  Recently our community members have developed a cold storage wallet printed from a 3D Printer for our coin where it is waterproof and shock resistant.

http://tekzilla.co.uk/

We have also recently had our online store API's released which allow merchants to easily integrate their online shopping carts to accept FastCoin as an acceptable method of payment.  Within the first week alone we had close to 20 merchants embrace our coin on this news.

Our network Hash rate continues to grow at a steady rate where we have witnessed 5,000 - 10,000 miners globally mine our coin.

Our coin was also a fair release to the public, not pre-mined like some of the more recent coins, with an even distribution of halving every 12 months.

For investors our coin has a special quality in its hard capped mintage of 165,888,000 coins, some other coins have a much higher minting rate which eventually could serve to be inflationary and potential price instability.

We are aggressively developing online and mobile apps to be used in everyday transactions.  We have developed apps for Windows, Mac, Linux and Android.  We are also currently developing a mobile wallet for iOS.
We agree with you that a crypto coin needs to have more to offer than simply speed and we are working on addressing those issues.  The fact that it is currently the Fastest transacting crypto coin we feel at this point is a great place to start, we look forward to building from there.

I hope that I may have highlighted some additional features about our coin that you may have not been originally aware of?  Please feel free to provide us with feedback as to what you would like to see from a Crypto coin, we will do our best to try to incorporate your ideas in the future.  Thanks again for your post, we look forward to your reply.

Sincerely

/C

Does anybody have an idea why I would have such a high reject rate mining Fastcoin? (Solo mining). I've never seen that with any other coin. It also has 0 accepts even though best share is far over diff.

I've been able to mine FastCoin blocks on the same wallet, but from another machine running cudaminer.
And this cgminer machine can successfully mine altcoin - but it trips up on fastcoin. What gives?

Its big question to cryptsy.
They didnt deposited all my transactions for last 5 days already. Its at least 50-60 transactions.
Supoport tickets simply ignored by their staff, but it as always.

Resolved: via IRC.

In this case, For older cards it is suggested to use an older version of cgminer. I've pasted links below for both 3.1.1 and 3.3.1.
Also, in cgminer, make sure you hit S for settings and change queue=0, scantime=1 and expiry=12. Especially when solo mining and don't forget to add another pool to for longpool support.

Why do confirmations take so long when sending to the exchange?

This is something you will need to take up with Cryptsy. They have been known to delay transactions for various coins, and not only that, but for various users.
