How is it not gambling? Nobody truly knows whether a coin will go up or down unless something major happens like China banning BTC use, or a coin development team refusing to upgrade. Other than that, there really is no way to tell whether it will go up or down or stay the same.

There is a probability when investing in BTC, there is a probability when gambling. Same thing. By gambling on a website, technically you are investing in that site if you think about it. You are putting in money, you are trying to get a return, if you don't you either decrease a lot of your original money you've put in, or you lose it all. Same situation can happen with BTC.

I think you are misunderstanding people who are saying this kind of things. Bitcoin is gambling, but that is just a metaphor, a figure of speech to describe what kind of investing will you get in bitcoin. Bitcoin is volatile, so the price do not really stay at one point but moves quickly every single minute, so the investing in bitcoin is so risky it is like gambling.

I agree with you. Bitcoin is not gambling, but bitcoin is an investment in the long run. Investment will give the benefit, but if gambling can not be sure of profit or loss.
