What encourages you to invest in any altcoin?

There are a lot of altcoins in the market today. What should one look out for before investing in any altcoin

My first investment in altcoin was out of desperation of making it big in cryptocurrency. I invested in ripple some times back and at the end of the day I made some reasonable profit from my investment but the whole things was just a gamble. Now, before I will invest in any ICO the followings are some of the things I look out for in a project. Who manage the campaign for the project this is because there are Managers here who don't promote scam project, their white paper and the team behind the project.

I am very particular with the coin, need to know if it belongs to the top list of altcoins then after knowing that i will check the forum if there are negative comments about it.  then after that i will invest after doing some research.

It is right its better to have a research in a particular coin before you put an investment.
And for me the most significant that I look to a coin is its reputation in the market. You should have your investment on something that is worth it.  Aside from you should also choose the altcoin that have a potential to last for a long time investment.

I am actually attracted to it's price because the lower the price of the specific promising altcoin the higher the chances of having good profit. Altcoin investments are more common nowadays as Bitcoin price is super in high which altcoins are dependent on it. Altcoins are also traders best investment and there people who claims that they are now millionaires because of altcoins too just like Bitcoin when it was in it's early ages. Short term and long term investments can be applied to altcoins and most traders do like day trading because of profitability. There are actually lots of altcoins on the market but the question is, how long do these coins will survive?

If it is a new altcoin, I would consider their ICO output and then their whitepaper and roadmap. As well as the team members. But if it is already in existence for several months or even a year already, I would pay more attention to their track record and how they were able to fulfill what is indicated in their roadmaps.

The attraction of altcoin is that it have potential to give a faster return as compare to investing in bitcoin. One of the most popular example is ethereum. If you have invest $100 in bitcoin and $100 in ethereum a year ago, you would have like $500 bitcoin now and $100,000 ethereum now. So you can see the huge amount of profit if you choose the right coin.

The amount of profit it makes in just a short time is very tempting. It makes me want to invest in promising altcoins because it's like everyday there's a coin that is getting pumped more than 5x-10x.

Do not invest in an altcoin just because it has chances of going up a lot in price, because when the opposite happens you are going to panic and you are going to sell for a loss, it is way better to invest in an altcoin you understand and that you are behind not only in economic terms but on its purposes and goals that way when the price goes down you are not going to care and you are going to keep holding since you know that at some point in the future the project it is going to become successful.

I won't stop from totally investing into altcoin and I believe that it is good to have more than one income source. I recommend to invest in bitcoin first and then if someone plans to have some more crypto coins in his wallet, he must go for ethereum or monero.

Waves and litecoin have also good potential of growing up, the speed can be slow but patience is required for earning great profits.

I think it is also important to see who is escrowing the funds of the project, if the owners of the project have full control of the money then they can runaway with the money at any time but if instead there is a reputable escrow in the project then you know that they are only going to get the money as they progress through the road map so that gives credibility to the project as well.

I like to look for something in a trending area like decentralized exchanges or such that have popularity. Then I want to make sure there are not a billion coins or more, lower supply the better generally, then I want to check for buzz on twitter and bitcointalk ANN. Must have quality website, quality team. Lastly I look at the history and chart if available.

Go to the fundamentals of the coin, if the devs are any good then there is hope, if the idea behind the project is a good one and something that matches the blockchain then that is fine too, and finally are there any competitors already in place, those three are the most important things to look in an altcoin.

This is one of my basis that encourages me to invest in alt coin because there are ICOs that are promising but doesn't have experienced team and consultants. But still a solid team is a plus for me though we have different preference in terms of investing in alt coin.

How long should we wait for its� rising?

It all depends on how strong the alt coin is, there are times that you have to wait for a month or two. If an alt coin doesn't have a strong support from it's team that's just a nonsense alt coin because they got profit on it already.

My motivation for my investment purely is for profit. Traditional investment is less transparent and most of the time, what you are buying as investment is not value at all. But in crypto you can verify and analyse correctly. Everything is open on the blockchain. No cheat.

My two key questions are:
1. What is the unique value proposition of this project? What problem does it solve?
2. Who is in charge of this project? Reputable, competent people are very important.

I also tend to stick with industries that I know a lot about. I'm really into online gaming, so that's an area of focus for me.
