If you know what to look for in an ICO and do extensive research it's not really that risky to turn a decent profit. Of course there's still a risk like most investment but it's not that huge like people think it is.

In my opinion it is not safe if you will invest in a certain ICO that you don't have any idea if it's legit. But there are some ways where you can participate without spending money, look for those ICOs that are conducting bounties and airdrops for their token. Spending time on promoting the ICO is a good way to participate, but of course research first on the ICO and get more information before joining

Not with that kind of mindset. Most of these projects are very centralized, many of them have a laughable distribution model, so it makes no sense to think they will be the next Bitcoin.

However, if you find something innovative, that is not trying to repeat what Bitcoin already does, you might be very successful in your investment.

Actually there's no assurance of safety in ICOs , it's all about chances and risking.
In terms of participating in ICO's, no one even knows what will be the outcome of your investment but for you to grow or earn much profit , you need to take a risk. You can invest in any coins in the market but do not expect that it will be the same status as Bitcoin or get a refund when everything goes down.

At this moment, I dont see any threat in participating in ICOs if you do your research about it. Also, do not invest a lot of money in ICOs. Make a wise decision in participating in ICOs and be vigilant in choosing the right one.
