Safe or not depends on the team and the project concept.

In General "Picking" an ICO is no different than "picking" an investment. But, you should do more than that....

As with any investment, you should take the time to research the company/idea to get a feel for them and make a decision based on how you view their chances for success are. Every investment has inherent risks, risks you can mitigate through good research.

For ICO, it is not just to have the perfect team with execution track record and of course to have the most disruptive idea that will impact the world, but moreover you should look carefully at their advisory board.

If the advisory board members are not just ones that were picked up along the process, but rather high rank officials from the non crypto world who cares a lot about their reputation and are afraid to be referred to a scam ICO, if those guys are in, it means the company/team/idea is worth looking into them.

I would add that the more advisory board members you have from the old world who highly care about their own reputation, the higher confidence you get about this ICO. so it not just elated to one guy in that advisory board...

Moreover, try to check if the company really cares about the token holder by reflecting true transparency before and after the ICO to make sure this company if the real thing!!

Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.

I believe so. I have been doing it for quite some time, and so far I have only been disappointed for several times. The point is there is a guarantee that we will definitely earn something. Just disregard the value, be more patient when it comes to the value of tokens. Eventually, we will all earn more than enough than we invested in our efforts.

Well, some of the ICO's being offered right now is most likely a scam. I think we need to evaluate first before investing our money in ICO. Yes it is sometimes profitable, but not all the time.

Yes it's good to join ICOs you just have to do your checks well so you don't get scammed. Its true that many ICOs brag about overtaking BTC so read their white paper and look at the project feasibility. I have participated in many projects and they went on good. But they need patience for growth!! Many ICOs are long term projects but some investors want high profits in short term which is sometimes difficult.

I believe some of ICO are scams but yeah you just need to be careful and you need to choose the best ICO before you invest on that. Some are collecting then if they collect money they will be gone

Everthing will go well as long as you research about the ICO you are going to follow. There are many ways to check if the ICO is safe or not: Read their whitepaper, search their website and try to find their social media, you can see it there if the ICO is updated or not.

Partly Yes and partly No.
Participating ICOs is safer when you search the good one and if you invest from your own pocket then it must be a tough decision which one and which is better.
There's websites that lists down the good ICOs but my advice is to invest the coins that are already in the market because they're already proven to be useful a d the price is stable and increasing.

Get involve in ico is very high risk but very high return. High risk and high return are equal.
So dont just think about the price double, think àlso how if the price decrease. The decision is depending the person itself.

It is not safe at all. But there are not any safe things in the world at all. How can you know that the ICO project is scam? Only analyze all data and only then make weighted decision.
Even dollar can be a scam that will collapse one day and our lives will turn into hell.

Yes and sometimes not. Sometimes ICOs tends to be deceiving, roadmaps and white paper are nice, but sometimes a scam, an example of a scam is the C Bounty

Many ICOs are out there to scam your money. The purpose of having ICO is so that they can get more money for their own benefit, and there is also a lot of ways to trick investors into sending the address belonging to the hackers.

The short answer is that, no, it's not safe to invest in ICOs. At the same time, if you're smart, then a risky investment in the right ICO can give you life changing rewards in the future. A lot of what you should look for is a coin's long term staying power; if it's going to be around for a long time then the chances are good that you'll eventually reap the rewards you want. For it have good staying power, though, it has to offer something to the marketplace that's unique (or "unique enough") that a lot of people are going to want. You also need to familiarize yourself with who's behind the coin, otherwise you could end up scammed out of your money or even end up with it "refunded" (after the BTC you used to buy it drops a few thousand dollars per coin, as happened with TokenPay). On the flipside, had you been able to invest in certain ICOs (such as SpectreCoin), then you'd be enjoying some life changing profits right now. I'm sure there are some ICOs out there that you could profit from, if you HODL for awhile and pick your coins carefully.

I know it's not much, but that's the best I can tell you, man. It's risky, way too risky for me, I think, but man can it pay off if you choose wisely.
