Always double check the team behind an ICO and make sure to do a KYC only with 100 % real and secure companies. Why is this so important? Read this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2803976.0

Life is both safe and unsafe so is everything else. Some ICO are safe others are not. Get to know the managers and team involve, learn from others and apply some caution where necessary and you will be safe by yourself.

I agree to you. There is risk in everything; thus, participation in ICO can be safe and unsafe. It just depends on you, on how you manage your actions to prevent negative outcomes.

Yes, but we should check its website and project background to visualise if it is scams like, but for me to be not a victim of scam then its better to participate in bounty campaign in an ICO because we only need a free time for that.

Well, yes it is safe to participate in ICOs, but keep in mind that not all would be safe for investing. There are also scams that you should be aware of. So before investing, make sure that the company is reliable or legit. It is also advisable that you should do some research when it comes to ICOs to make sure that your investments would go smooth as possible.

ICOs can make huge returns - you need to thoroughly evaluate them and their risk (as you would investing in alts), then go!

Joining ICO is indeed a hood investment. I think it's safe since you dont have to release money when joining campaigns or anything. You just have to be careful when it comes to scams because they are literally everywhere.

First do your research on the ICO, the team behind it and the core idea of the project. There are some scam ICOs but they will die out with the time.

Some are reliable, some are scammer. The most important is to find a good project
if you find a good project you can make money in really good quantities

That's the point, if you are lucky and wise you will be able to achieved that, but since the question is how safe it is to participate in an ICO project,
then it's a matter of how well you are going to investigate about the project, knowing the team behind finding what can be the help of such project
inside the community and how the people support it, this is just some of those basic that we needed to know first before placing any participations
or investment, that's how wise investors did before making any entry.

As we all know, investing in ICOs is very risky you really have to dig deep in researching for these projects if it's a good investment or not. Well there's website that review this kind of instances, look at it in icobench.com and  icodrops.com. ICO's that are listed there are rated and has reviews. Check it by yourself and think before investing.

Safe or not it depends on the project developer.
If you search well about project before investing, it is safe for sure. There are lots of ICOs and their number increasing everyday. So there are some scams naturally. Thats why you need to search well before you investing in it.

Good luck.

Honestly speaking there is no such thing as being safe in investing/participating in ICO's. Risk will always accompany you. If you are thinking about participating in ICO, do your own research, but also to speak to people who have already gone through the experience of participating in it. Read the entire whitepaper. There absolutely must be a project roadmap, information about what gathered funds would be used for, how tokens will be used, and information about the team and project advisors. It is imperative to evaluate the project team. Assess the realization of the project and it must target a global audience and strive towards decentralization. Goodluck.

Right now there are many ICOs coming out, is it really safe to participate in any of it and spend that much? In participating ICOs I have high hopes that these coins could be the next Bitcoin or other currencies that are really going up in the market.

It is only safe to participate if the developers will not scam their participants, you should always look at the manager who will handle the ico in order to be sure that you will get the exact amount of bounty altcoins because some are just fraud and taking advantage of their profit.

It depends on the ICO you've chosen, there are a lot of ICOs out there and some are not real and scams. You can do your own research about the ICO you like so your time and money will not be wasted. You should be careful in what ICO you will join before investing your money and time in to it.
