Even in the event that an attacker gains more than 50% of the network's computational power, only transactions sent by the attacker could be reversed or double-spent. The network would not be destroyed.

Have you guys ever think to how long is bitcoin will survive in this world ? Well, I mean is there anything that can make bitcoin bankrupt or low price, then possibly will make bitcoiners doesn't want to invest anymore. And also is there any solution to avoid those thing. Just wonder to know.

We can't really say I guess. But as long as there are bitcoin enthusiasts, investing, making things through use of bitcoin probably there will be no end. But I think it will last forever because this is the future of technology and nobody wants the future to end up just like a bubble!

IMO Bitcoin has a great future, only if governments find a way to benefit from it (applying taxes...), otherwise it would be naive to think it will last forever.
Think about "underground" activities like poker games, sports betting, now it is legal in a lot of countries but only if you play on local websites, governments  always want their share.
I just hope the anonymity qualities of Bitcoin don't vanish, otherwise, what's the point?
Wait and see.  Smiley

bitcoin will always persist when bitcoin is still needed for the payment process, bitcoin is the digital currency and the future will convert paper money into more efficient digital money so bitcoin will last very long to several hundred years to come.

I have a view of the bitcoin that will become more famous in the future and bitcoin becomes the legitimate digital currency in all countries, bitcoin will always persist to overcome the required payment.

This poll is a joke. Both of the choices basically mean the same thing. LOL.  Grin Anyway, Bitcoin is here to stay for a long time. There are reasons of course that might cause the gradual weakening of Bitcoin but for as long as they are attended to immediately, there is not much risk of Bitcoin dying. Transactions fees are a big high and they have worked on it. Confirmation time is also another concern that they have also addressed.

It will survive for a long time as long as there are a supply and demand of Bitcoin in the market. Also, one of the major factors in this type of industry is the internet. As long as the internet is up, Bitcoin will continuously operate.

bitcoin will last forever because this is the beginning of the era of digital currencies developed in the future.

There are things that won't last forever. We might not know nor can predict the future of Bitcoin. There might be a chance that Bitcoin will be replaced by another cryptocurrency which has exceeded the expectations of each and every one of us. There is also chance that when another crypto tops Bitcoin, then Bitcoin could be erased or will be out of the picture like any other alts.

Bitcoin will survive as long as there's a computer running the blockchain.
I'm sure the Bitcoin blockchain will be kept for educational purpose, even if the users one day decided not to use bitcoins anymore.

Bitcoin is going to survive so long as our planet remain, like some handful of generation's to come and on so what can make bitcoin turn out to be irrelevant that can only happened once the government subject the activities of bitcoin for an intolerable circumstances that can make people to free curiosity then people will quit.Or the absence of the web this will end it actions at the same time.

I see more bitcoin in the future serve as a medium for certain political interests, many who want to add funds to accommodate them and bitcoin is the right solution. Bitcoin will survive as long as there is controversy and pros and cons from around the world. As long as there is not a majority of developed countries banning it then bitcoin will continue to grow wildly.

For bitcoins to survive over the long term, it must have to be used as a medium of exchange by regular people buying regular things at regular stores. But what's wrong with bitcoins is that when you make a transaction for a very small amount of money let's say $3 & if you'll pay the minimum miner fee (which is about 5% of your total amount amount), it takes around 24hours to confirm the transaction. That's way too slow for those who don't want to pay high miner fees. Bitcoins are created by miners. They create new bitcoins and keeps track of   transactions and are rewarded with the newly created bitcoins + miner fees. Today, so many people are using bitcoins, more and more computer power is needed to update the block chain ledger. If this isn't going to get fixed, bitcoins will not have a long future. No seller or buyer is going to pay $3 in fees and wait for 24hours for the confirmation to sell a hotdog.

That quite big, I don't think it will ever happen, replacing the current system is a hard mission and that would not be easy without the support of the government. I mean the government has the power to regulate and could make it unfavorable for bitcoin, when that happen, people will loss interest on bitcoin and the price will fall, this is quite successful now but I would like to see it succeed and blend with the current system.

Bitcoin is going to live happy and healthy life. It's not about 2040 or mining Bitcoin it's about currency's future. Will die or not? Its depend on the demand. http://btcwarriors.com/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=464&p=31053&hilit=bitcoin+live+long&sid=11abde7a7ee8b25cffea140396c71daf#p31053

I think bitcoin will survive as long as there are people supporting and continously joining in each campaign. Also with the aid of technology, through the internet facilities which helps us to connect and  participating.
