Generally all cryptocurrencies do have a potential to be profitable. This is  how the  system generally works and what makes companies invest. All alt coins are connected in a sense that one is convertible to another. That is the potential of the cryptocurrency.

not all crypto currency have potential to have profit. Did you see many airdrop, sh*t ico happening? That why not current worth or will bring back profit.

As I was taught for a long time and as famous authorities say, only 10 percent of all crypto-currencies have real potential, everything else is just a speculative element.

There are too ma y alts that are nothing more than boutique  coins. They offer nothing different.

Altcoins are good if you invest and trade wisely. Research is needed ofcourse and i would suggest you get advice from an experienced member of the community.

Sincerely you have really tried for holding your altcoins for 6 months but the mystery behind selling now is that the coin may go up immediately after you dump the coin. Patience is very important when it comes to crypto investment.

depening on the coin you holding and there roadmap,its still not a bad idea to invest in ICO,just ensure the project is with real service or product to deliver

Yes depend on which alts you invested. If you look at undervalued coins with good technology and no or only few competitor you can make good profit even better than BTC performance.
Take a look at QSP, BLUE, BTX, XSPEC, AION you will find some gems there.

Now the altkoins have grown sufficiently, against the background of the growth of bitcoin. I believe that you can earn money if you keep coins with you for another six months or a year. The market is growing and increasing.

Altcoins growth still depends on bitcoin. I think the future of altcoin still depends on it. No matter how many potentials an altcoins has it still depends on bitcoin. When you have invested in altcoins you should also hope for bitcoins future.

This. Lots of junk altcoins combined with new money coming onto the market, just got to pick that gem and ride it. Obviously easier said then done. At some point in the future I suspect the altcoin market will consolidate into some key players, just hope I back the right horse/s.

Altcoins growth still depends on bitcoin. I think the future of altcoin still depends on it. No matter how many potentials an altcoins has it still depends on bitcoin. When you have invested in altcoins you should also hope for bitcoins future.

Yes Altcoins do rise a lot but holding bitcoin is only profitable if they rise at a greater pace than bitcoin itself. I didn't think like this earlier.  When I came new to the market I usually made most of the trades using USD or USDT and saw the changes in the same currency there was nothing wrong by using it but actually I realised that I was earning nothing because if I would have kept the same money in btc it would have grown much more. Like I purchased 3 ETH when it was at $300 with my btc at a price of 0.054 BTC/ETH. ETH rose to $500 I thought I am in profit but then I actually realised that BTC/ETH price is now 0.040 ETH so I have actually lost a great deal of funds already.

I see you are lively with your posts and that could mean you are doing fine.

I am still not that old when it comes to investing in crypto but I see a lot of future when you are holding it for a longer time. Just like bitcoin and ethereum which are now exploding in their values.
The question is what altcoin will be next. Is it Waves?

altcoin is very profitable when you hold a good coin with a good project. While this is indeed the price was falling, because of the effect of the price of bitcoin on the rise. but believe altcoin has a good future.

I also want to have the same hope for alt-coin in the future and get a good alt-coin to get a big advantage

Check the roadmap of most altcoins, the maturity of the coins are in 2018. 2018 holds the key to a blossom altcoins boom. Holding alcoins for 6 months in 2017 and getting tired is lack of patience. I encourage you to be patient still.

Now Bitcoin price is hype around the fork in October. Most of altcoins are going down. Even the potential ones. Another thing is you need to have some criteria to choose the best coins to invest.

for the next some alt-coin will be good the price I think, and if the bitcoin price goes down drastically the price will be defeated by alt-coin

Just a humble opinion, guys.
In ancient Europe every landlord had it's own mint and made it's own money. There was a lot of confusion regarding "which money is which, which money do people accept in this or that land etc."
Now, us having exchanges and dynamic information streams we could think that problem is solved, but...
The reason why no one ever doubted those feudal coins value was because all that money was made of precious metals. But current cryptos are generally all 0's and 1's - information, something that has power as long as it has some kind of trust behind it. And it's a piece of cake to loose trust nowadays.
I'm more than sure this will cause issues, and sooner than you - or even me - might expect.
