Because if global governments find out that criminals or terrorists are using bitcoin to finance their activities - and currently there is very little checking and balancing to eliminate this behavior. - it may urge the persecution. If governments around the world set regulations that make owning bitcoin difficult, we can see prices plunge Grin Grin

Some people fight bitcoin because they do not understand the potential of bitcoin, or maybe some individuals want to release bad news to lower bitcoin prices Grin

Because many people think that bitcoin is deceptive and fraudulent. They believe that decentralization in a monetary system will be ineffective and safer when it comes to investing in traditional financial systems that are largely beneficial to governments and the rich. Huh

I'm trying to understand why are so many people against bitcoin?  is it the innovation that scares them? the feeling of staying behind? the fact that that money will go to the wrong hands?

One reason is that people are thinking bitcoin as scam. They are scared of being scam so they are against on it. There are many news about scam from bitcoin investments and they believe about it so they came to think of not to do business with bitcoins.

It's probably because they think bitcoin is easy to use for criminals and bad things because it's anonymous and nobody knows who you send someone to Wink

The negative propaganda has made a lot of people to believe that Bitcoin is a currency which is used by drug traffickers, organ traders, criminals and pedophiles. Unfortunately, we are not able to counter this propaganda effectively.

Some people do not believe bitcoin because they think that bitcoin is just a scam, they are still living in old thinking that only believe in the currency in the form of fiat. But someday, they will regret for ignoring bitcoin.

they mostly think about the negative or bad side of bitcoin and have not seen the positive side as can increase one's economy even a group. and in fact if they are given proper and correct direction they will also be interested in bitcoin, maybe they will instead make their own digital money system.
if money falls into the wrong hands, it depends on each - each person uses the money ,,, as well as select the appropriate and good and honest in handling it.

i actually cannot think of one person that is actively "against" it.  there are those that do not care, and there are those that do not know....but outright against it, i haven't run into any.  just because someone doesn't grab up bitcoin and live it like a religion is no reason to question them, it has some concerns for many people and there ae a bunch of thsoe that need guarantees when it comes to money and investments, well as much as anything can be guaranteed.
