I'm trying to understand why are so many people against bitcoin? is it the innovation that scares them? the feeling of staying behind? the fact that that money will go to the wrong hands?

many of those "many people" you see are not against bitcoin. they are actually heavily invested in it but they pretend otherwise. someone who is spreading FUD in 99% of the times wants the price to drop so he can either short bitcoin or because he has some buy orders placed ahead of time at certain low prices. i honestly can not think of anybody who does not benefit from bitcoin! even banks that some people say are against bitcoin or bitcoin is against them are happy about bitcoin. not only bitcoin introduced blockchain technology to them to improve their business but also it has opened up new ways for banks to make money. banks are in fact making a lot of money because of bitcoin, all these traders are using banks to handle their money transfers and there are lots of them

Layman's insecurity that is the reason why they hate it. They cannot hold it in their hands. It is intangible. They like holding paper, coins and plastic cards. All the old world stuff makes them feel comfortable. Bitcoin makes them uneasy and jittery. For they are not making any efforts to study it.

Yes, There's still a lot of people who are against or do not believe in bitcoin and what I think of is - it is because of the risk of security. I even tried to discuss this with my friends at work and they do not believe that they can earn money in bitcoin even without any investment.

Simply because you can not buy it at a high price, it is obvious that you are against it. Lower the cost and buy it at a cheaper price Why not? And what china did with bitcoin is a good example.

No one is actually against Bitcoin. It's either them having missed out and thus are heavily disappointed, which in some cases can turn into a form of hate. Or they lack the knowledge to understand something, wich again can turn into a form of hate. In both cases it's nothing more than a lame attempt to cover that person's own weakness/stupidity/ignorance - that directly goes up for banks and governments as well. From banks and governments I already know that nothing will change, but when it comes to people, it all comes down to education. If they understand what Bitcoin is, what decentralization means, and the freedom that comes with it, they eventually will change their way of thinking, I am sure of that.

If you seen X men it's very easy to make you understand, people are scared of what they can't control, or can't understand, Bitcoin has no master, has no authority to control, say it's Rouge, so people are really not ready to believe it will be good for them. Plus add to the fact that there are so many misconceptions about Bitcoins, and there lack of effort to end this misconceptions. Then the price is also a deterring factor, which puts people away and since they can't buy it, they hate it.

Probably jealous that they can’t afford to get in now or as far as governments go they’ll just ne scared because they have no real control over it.

I think alot of people haven't taken the time to understand what it is. But, in the coming years more and more people will be introduced to it. Showed my dad a documentary of Bitcoin last night. He seems less against it now

Undoubtedly, bitcoin is a significantly revolutionising currency and there is nothing about feeling hatered with it. Some people may be unaware of its privileges, or getting jealous over success of its traders, that's why they seem to feel against bitcoin. Looking forward, they will surely change their mind when all nations mark this as legal currency.

Because they don't understand the true meaning and value of bitcoin. They don't want accept the changes in our technology yet they dont have intention to learn it. Maybe some of them are skeptical to the point not knowing even trying once in their lives.

I think alot of people haven't taken the time to understand what it is. But, in the coming years more and more people will be introduced to it. Showed my dad a documentary of Bitcoin last night. He seems less against it now exactly this; as far as mainstream exposure of bitcoin goes, it's mostly presented in a negative way, or is presented negatively inherently because of the topic in which bitcoin is included is negative. just look at the most obvious examples: dark net markets (drugs, weapons) ransoms, all that good stuff. with something like that being the first exposure someone's had of bitcoin, its no wonder they wouldnt even bother to take the time to look more into it. of course, there are the curious exception who will do it anyways, but the grand majority do not. as bitcoin grows larger, and gains exposure, i think the public will come to accept it more as awareness and knowledge spreads.

He seems less against it now The major reason for people who are not for bitcoin because there is no acceptance officially by majority of the countries. And since its not approved people would not be liking it much until they get clear laws and regulation about the bitcoin by their country government.

I think they are the people who are in the government and in financial institution because bitcoin threaten the banks which will be the curency in the future, but for the individual i think they do not hate bitcoin instead they will love it because it will give them or us a good income which can be lead to financial freedom that is why as users of bitcoin we should need continue to promote and advertise bitcoin to others who do not know what is bitcoin or crypto currency.

Maybe they really don't understand what is Bitcoin is all about, that like how it works and the possible benefits that they may get, they just need to be shared thru specific details and a deep understanding so that they will understand it slowly because not all people are high intellectual or a past learner that they can easily understand all about bitcoin. All i can say is just a little patience and if still don't works well it about time to leave them alone. Live and let live

Coin always has two faces. I am not someone against bitcoin but bitcoin comes with its own demerits. Untraceable operations are giving birth to a large illegal trade market. Moreover its volatility is actually restraining it from gaining status of an universal currency.

I wouldn't say people are against it. Investing in Bitcoin is a risk, and those who can't take that risk is naturally averse towards it. They also know money could be had by investing, so they could have some jealousy or resentment towards those who took the chance. Basically sour graping. No one really dislikes innovation, especially since no one is forcing it down their throats.
Some governments are against it though. Its decentralized nature makes it hard to control and regulate. They're probably the ones afraid of money falling into the wrong hands via money laundering, illegal sales, etc.

People are always saying negative things about bitcoin because they don't know it's function and also sometime people just want to dump the price of bitcoin. The only thing that i can see is that not all people know about bitcoin and every time someone ask them to do invest they always say no because they are afraid of getting scammed. Bitcoin is really great opportunity to make more money, so for me people should like this one.

There are others who don't since they are afraid to try new things especially the old ones nowadays since the impact of the news they heard in TV.
