I'm trying to understand why are so many people against bitcoin?  is it the innovation that scares them? the feeling of staying behind? the fact that that money will go to the wrong hands?

People oppose Bitcoin for a variety of reasons, but I think Bitcoin is not only an excellent place to invest but has a lot of future. In my country, there are many Bitcoin supporters but the government bans and does not give Everyone is active in Bitcoin because the government does not want the losses that Bitcoin brings

Easy. For most people, BTC IS a scam, in that it has no apparent advantage over fiat.

Let's look outside this whole Bitcoin bubble for a second. What purpose does BTC serve for 99% of the general population? It's very technical, accepted in few places, and a pain to buy. In my everyday life, I can buy almost anything I want with cash and a credit card. Why would I use this alternative currency just for the sake of using it? Some might argue that BTC is a hedge against inflation, but guess what else is a hedge against inflation? Every other type of investment option out there, and each with much much less risk than BTC.

So yeah, why would the general public bother to even understand BTC?

Probably, those people who seems to disagree with the promises of bitcoin are not properly informed about the real thing about this technology. They maybe reading negative speculations and bad reviews which are actually baseless and just coming from detractors who perhaps have hidden agenda for their own benefits. If only they could experience the real advantage of bitcoin, probably, they would change their mind quickly.
