Awesome Bitfinex! You´re doing a great job , as always? I Everything will be resolved "soon" just until it happens the next time (5-6 days...)
Admit that you´re ouf money and coins and give people back what´s left, if there is anything left......
Thanks for fuckin everything up!

No, they are scarcely out of money. I successfully withdrew the core of my deposit (in addition to my 0.2BTC I withdrew previously). The withdrawal was pretty fast...

Left something around 0.5BTC which is stuck in open orders

If they aren´t now wait till we crash to sub 100 and all those 25m USD longs, most of them with BTC as collateral, will evaporate into nothing as there simply isn´t enough buy support to close into. This whole thing is going to blow up sooner or later.

Withdrawals now seem to be stuck too (in a state of "processing"). Some of my open buy orders (which I couldn't cancel) got filled, and I immediately tried to withdraw the proceedings...

Time to run, I guess

Withdraws are working fine now or mine did anyway, going over to kraken for a bit, mostly just hodl anyway Smiley

Mine got through too. I even sent back some BTC for day trading (percentage of what I had there). I have another story to tell, but will wait until the support finally make up their mind. I got some orders filled while the exchange was allegedly halted, so it is now up to them to solve the issue...

I won't let it go

You can follow them on twitter @bitfinex

By the way, what type of robot do you use, web form or api based?

Trading is down, again. And of course it's right before a significant movement in LTC, again.

If it weren't for the margin trading, I think I would have moved from Bitfinex by now. A lot of downtime lately.

I can't wait until other exchanges like Bit-X or BitStamp offer margin trading.

I use a custom robot using api.

You're welcome!

I have my own robot (written in Qt/c++), that's why I ask. Did you write it yourself (someone wrote it for you), or you bought it somewhere?

Until they took it down again! According to their Twitter page the issue seems to be primarily with the BTC/USD pair, but affects all pairs when the trading engine is down.

My balance is wrong now. It seems that they have "lost" some part of it. This exchange is a complete fuck-up!

www.twitter.com/bitfinex: We are experiencing data corruption issues and will be offline until corrected. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Dying storage sucks big time! Or is this maybe related to recent changes in backend logic?

There should be no such notion as "dying storage" (or "data corruption" due to an obscure hardware failure) at an exchange with daily volumes of a few million dollars...

I hope they didn't run with the money the whole exchange on a single disk

+1 but that's just how technology still works. Even the fattest (network-)RAID or whatever goes tits up at one point, even the least fat-fingered admin throws the wrong commands into the wrong console at one point... After all bitfinex.com still has "Beta" written on it somewhere, doesn't it?

BFX: It would be nice to see some kind of technical details about how your systems are implemented and secured. How many servers are behind the production systems? What redundancies are in place for storage, memory, network, power supply, physical locations. Load-balancing, Firewall, IPS, IDS, DDoS and so on? Sure, details that your competitors probably shouldn't know but your users sure could need some kind of reassurance after so many eff-ups in a row.

Can't withdraw due to negative balance on exchange (-$18)? But my BTC  balance on exchange is in the thousands of usd.
Why is my USD balance negative? Is it just a bug or something more sinister?
Any withdraw attempt is immediately canceled. Anyone else having this problem?

My best guess is that you are just done trading and your negative balance probably reflects "unsettled" yet fees. I've seen this before and this should all clear within a day or two. You may want to try withdrawing just a bit less than what is currently shown as you balance.

I'm having similar, but not exactly the same.

Trying to withdraw BTC and do get the email "Withdrawal #XXXXXX has been approved" but online status shows "Pending Approval..."  since about 9:30 AM EDT.

They said that the withdrawals were processed manually after the recent problems with trades and alleged data corruption. My test withdrawal (some 0.03BTC) had been pending for about 12 hours...
