I have tried HiveOS on a stick and it works a lot better than anything else I have tired on Linux!!
It wend from 20-21MH/s to 29MH/s!!
Under windows I get 31.9MH/s, but everyone - except one person on this forum, who does not respond to PMs LOL - gets a little less than under windows.

Problem is that I need to run it in a VM, as I do not have dedicated hardware.
Would it be possible to create an img files that only has one partition, so that I can run it in libVirt?
I can modify the configs myself, once the system is up and running.
Would REALLY, REALLY appreciate it!!!

Not sure what happened, but downloaded the latest image again and tried to import into VM and it worked like a charm.
will setup cards now

Hi

I started using hiveos but I'm new at it. I have a couple of questions

1) I am suing claymore dual miner. When using it in win 10 in the dpools and epools files I had various pools configured. 4 in total. Here in hiveos I jst have one. How can I add here also the backup pools? I am suing nanopool.

2) in the rigs section there is the "second miner" option. Can someone explain me what is it for?

Thanks!

For nanopool.

epools

POOL: eth-eu2.nanopool.org:9999, WALLET: %EWAL%.%WORKER_NAME%/%EMAIL%, PSW: x, WORKER: , ESM: 0
POOL: eth-asia1.nanopool.org:9999, WALLET: %EWAL%.%WORKER_NAME%/%EMAIL%, PSW: x, WORKER: , ESM: 0
POOL: eth-us-east1.nanopool.org:9999, WALLET: %EWAL%.%WORKER_NAME%/%EMAIL%, PSW: x, WORKER: , ESM: 0
POOL: eth-us-west1.nanopool.org:9999, WALLET: %EWAL%.%WORKER_NAME%/%EMAIL%, PSW: x, WORKER: , ESM: 0

And for the second miner:
Second miner. How setup a second miner and why would you want to have it.

Thanks a lot!

Should I add all the pools in the epools field line by line?

I added the second miner. Cpu xmr. But for some reason with my i5 8600k clocked at 5ghz I only get 87m/s

Is there any setting/parameter I have to change?

Thanks!

Coming from EthOS, I feel the configuration of miners in HiveOS is simpler. The web interface also seems more polished. There are a couple features I miss though:

1. Is there a way to identify which GPU is which? In ethOS, there is a 'find-gpu' command that revs the fan up and down so you can identify the physical GPU.
2. The farm page https://hiveos.farm/a/ doesn't scale well to a phone browser. A useful enhancement would be to make the page render better on mobile devices and/or have a app. The ethOS Android app is convenient.
3. The ethOS dashboard displays more information about each rig. You could see power limit and core/memory speed of each GPU. Also, you can see the device ID of each GPU, which can help in multi-GPU rigs where you might have cards from different manufacturers.

Please review these and consider them for future enhancements.

Thanks!

I added this configuration to the cpu parameter

"cpu_threads_conf" : [{"low_power_mode":false,"no_prefetch":true,"affine_to_cpu":0}, {"low_power_mode":false,"no_prefetch":true,"affine_to_cpu":1}]

I have an i5 8600k

How can I use it at full power?

I am slowly starting to learn how to use this program.

I am super positively impressed

My gtx1060 went from 19.8 average OC in win10 to 22 average OC using hiveos. Amazing

This OS is perfect. The only missing thing would be a dedicates app.

I will soon complete the installation of my firsts 5 rigs. Can't wait to use them with hive os

May you add "XMR Stack GPT" on the mining softwares too?

SGminer is tricky to setup. Don't think i can help. You didn't not name your cards and algo you try to miner.

XMR Stack GPU is in todo list, yes.

How can i undervolt my rx 580 under hive? Thanks!

RIG/AMD OC you can change Core voltage:
This is required if you try to undervolt you card. And you MUST set "Core State" or default 5 state will be used to set the voltage.
You can set values like 900 meaning mV or values like 65284 from VBIOS table.

got one step further.

Was using my original settings:
Quote
CORE 1315 DPM 4 V 950 MEM 2250 FAN 80

But also tried these from someone on page 13 of this thread:
Quote
CORE 1250 DPM 4 V 900 MEM 2250 FAN 80
Cards are running at 80% as I have that option in claymore settings

My cards (sapphire rx580 SE OC ) have been modded and run without issues under windows are 31.9MH/s at 103W/card.
Am using afterburner with 1315MHz GPU and 2250MHz mem.

have the rig up and running, but my MH/s are all over the place.

I have seen the total go down as far a 24MH/s and as you can see the first 3 cards go to a max of around 4MH/s.

On ethermine.org, it shows me that I have a reported hash of 150.6MH/s and actual of 53.4MH/s

How would i be able to analyze this?

Edit: My stale shares also went from 5% to 27%
I am getting a lot of the below in my syslog.

I am having problem with crashes.

Every 6/8 hours the system crash. I have just one gtx 1060. I use dual claymore.
I lowered the overclock but it didn't help.
In windows with the same overclock settings I never have problems.

How can I find out what's the problem?

Thanks!

I have a similiar problem. I use 8x gtx 1060 cards and when I run ETH miner (solo) it seems stable. But when I run claymore dual (with siacoin) it keeps on crashing that even reboots doesn't help. I need to fisicaly shut down the rig and put usb out/in.

My friend runs an identical (literally) rig with also hive OS and it works for him running claymore dual.

What can be the problem? Electricity plug? USB maybe?
It is driving me insane.

Dual mining will draw more current so might be taxing your PSU. 1060s aren't very strong at ETH let alone dual ETH+SIA, have you tested out equihash algos?

Most R9 cards should work, except for the 270/270x. I'm not sure about overclocking.

Hello. I'm trying HiveOS for the first time and I've hit a snag, after configuring the rig, wallet, etc.

I've tried a couple different miners and a couple different pools, and I keep getting "Unable to resolve host".

Update: I added the -SC 2 argument, and now I can connect to eth.suprnova.cc, but I still can't get any work.
